this rule seems wrong.
my opponent fouled on the black, which put me 7 behind,
but the frame ended.
and i lost even though if the ball is respotted due to foul i could of drawn and taken it too a re-spot.
Surely this is incorrect, i never knew we can foul on purpose to win a frame!!!

by the way im not claiming my opponent fouled on purpose
but the point i make is that we can foul on purpose to win the frame.

The chap must have been 14 points ahead when he fouled, so it's not really fouling to win the frame seeing as he would have won anyway. It's more like fouling to end the frame (if I'm not mistaken).

a foul is a foul
if your 14 ahead and you foul going in off
surely the black should come back out
then i get chance to pot it and even the score because im 7 behind!!!!
then a respot can take place

nail on the head.
if player is 14 ahead they dont need to try to pot the black.
but if they decide to pot the black and then the white goes in there 7 ahead
there opponent should be able to take advantage of there unforced error to equal the scores.

exactly!
The Official Rules of Snookerhttp://www.worldsnooker.com/rules_of_snooker.htm
im sure it says somewhere else a deliberate foul results in forfeiture of the game but a computer cannot determine the difference and the above rules are the most accurate that can be applied.
personally i take advantage of this rule since it came in, in the same way i do in tournaments when i am "more than the 12 point from snookers required" ahead in the game.

4. End of Frame, Game or Match
(a) When only the Black is left, the first score or foul ends the frame excepting only if the following conditions both apply:
(i) the scores are then equal, and
(ii) aggregate scores are not relevant.
(b) When both conditions in (a) above apply
(i) the Black is spotted,
(ii) the players draw lots for choice of playing
(iii) the next player plays from in-hand, and
(iv) the next score or foul ends the frame.
(c) When aggregate scores determine the winner of a game or match, and the aggregate scores are equal at the end of the last frame, the players in that frame shall follow the procedure for a re-spotted Black set out in (b) above.

What is wrong is...
I was losing by 3 points with the black on the table, he potted white giving me a 4 point lead, the black was on bottom cushion a shot id of probally missed let anone potted... but whats wrong is...
He was 4 points behind with black on table, and i won default bcoz of the black rule.
If he pots black he wins?
I dunno if its an error in the patch or if you actually think this is a rule in real life you must be mistaken, isnt a chance of it.
Been wrong before tho..
like today Southampton was my banker...lost :( lol

if the computer cannot determine if its deliberate or not, surely this rule being implemented in the game, is some what of a farce!!

Lee, stop being such a drama queen. If you'd have actually looked on the first page of the thread list, you would have seen that.
