no 24-hour post limit.

yeah i use to hate this a lot, and you would have to wait at least 15 hours or something for it to go down. i had a idea, i wouldnt mind the 200 post limit as long as the 10 min limit and 1 hour limit disappeared and the post count would always reset at midnight like the breaks does.

Or you could go outside...

I think by now, we should have player notes.

Pretty much every game online for example poker, you can click on the users name, and create a personal note.

As the site has a figure nearing 30,000 users we can often forget people and their style of play.

For example, a few people I play with on a regular basis will know the shots im weaker at, like middle pockets for example. So I think it would be handy if "notes" were installed in order to write "Safety player, Weakness - long shots" Just to group up your thoughts of that player which will help everyone in the future.

Is just a thought.

What about being able to sort your friends list, so you can have people you chat to most, or people from your clan, at the top of your friends list.

This could be done either by creating "Groups" (i.e Clan, Races ect) or by implementing a drag-and-drop feature, so that you can have your most contacted friends at the top.

This would help people with large friends lists to be able to find their friends more quickly.

Most friends you can have at one time is 50 atm..
They all show up on one page so its easy enough to find them

It couldn't be that hard to make it possible to see a game if you join the room late?

Actually it is quite tricky to achieve without significant load on the server.

How?

Because of the most likely way that the game is implemented.

To limit server load, most of the processing is done in the client which means that the only traffic to and from the server (related to gameplay) are the cue ball parameters which can be replicated (and all subsequent dynamics) in both clients which are identical (there may be other/different things but the principle is the same).

This works because both clients (and any watchers) know where the balls are at the start of the game. If someone joins half way through the full details of the current position must be related to the watcher so that it can track all subsequent shots and a lot of watchers could mean significant load.

suppose thats a good enough answer

No problem, in fact if you think about it there is absolutely no need for the server to know where the balls are at all, as it it only interested in the communication between clients and the scores. This would mean that would be very difficult to tell a late joining watcher what the current position is.

Im sick of ideas not even being heard or even being registered by the people upstairs!

However I hopelessly send another idea to get wasted.

Basically when arranging 'unofficial' events with 10+ people in, its rather tedious to have to send the same message in single fashion.

A Link message system enabling you to send the same message to multiple people would be ideal.

A non game improvement that should be looked into IMO is on the forum, where it originally tells you the time and date of the post for a split second, before changing to something like '1 day ago' or '2 hours ago'.

Really tiny, but grinds my gears...

James, Admins don't want to be pestered by the likes of us
