No, i am reffering about Private chat window, you could invite 3 people at a time maximum, too stop certain people abusing the tool and inviting everyone you possibly can.

I know exactly what you're referring to...

I was using it as an example to show that no one is likely to "invite everyone you possibly can", and that even if they did, it wouldn't matter, just don't accept the invite if you don't want to, (so there would be no 'abuse' going on).

To make sure of what?

What's the harm in having as many people as you want in a private chat?

Theres no harm, im just saying, people might think there cool, and invite everyone online, to stop this, you should keep the maximum at 3.

People might think they're cool and invite everyone to a game room as well though. But it just doesn't happen and it wouldn't even matter if it did. It's the same with this!

You said it yourself....

So explain yourself, what's the problem?

Well you haven't even explained your opinion very well, that's all.

All you've said is that there needs to be a limit of 3 to stop abuse, but there's no harm in not having a limit. Work that one out. You're contradicting yourself.

Because...

It will be abused.

You say its simple to just not accept the invite...

Well think how simple it would be...if its not abuseable!

No point using your method, cut out the middle man, your wrong here Jimmy my ol' boy! Deal with it.

Duh!

Simples.

Not at all.

You haven't even explained what's wrong with being able to invite however many people you want to the private chat and how that would be "abusing" it, so how does anything that you've just said make me wrong?

Simply saying "It will be abused." and not explaining any further is completely pointless.

So try again Derry my ol' boy....

There might have to be limit at some point for some technical reason, I don't know anything about that though.

But no one has yet explained how inviting however many people you want is "abusing" it....

Well, there are people...who for example know that swearing in forums is rule breaking and results in punishment, very silly behaviour and even you know that as you have just recently edited...yet fully aware of that, you abused your posting rights.

So there are users of this site that will...say, invite as many people as possible just for the sake of it.

Im pretty sure that if 40 people were invited to one pivate chat, then it would cause lagging/screen freezing etc.

Also inviting multiple users (for just the sake of it) would be abusing a great implementation becuase im sure users would complain about constantly being invited to a private room, which would cause grief with a rise in "send complaints" which would be a waste of moderators and administrators time and effort.

Which the final conclusion leads to a summary which didnt need to be detailed...but for simpletons like you Jim i will elaborate.

It would be a shame for such a gand idea to be abused by the minority of silly, immature and irresponsible users.

That is why this idea needs a limit in maximum capacity.

Nice one trying to slip little digs at me in there by the way, very clever...

Maybe inviting 40 people to one private chat could cause lagging, I wouldn't know, but there is no obligation to accept the invite or even keep the chat window open. Maybe inviting 40 people to a game room could do the same thing, but there's nothing wrong with doing that. And I haven't seen anyone complain about being "constantly invited" to game rooms either.

Also, you think that being able to invite 10 people to a private chat is fine, but 40 is abuse. How did you work that one out? Where is the line between OK and ABUSE? And how have you decided that's where the line goes?

Regardless of whether you want to class it as abuse or not, no one is likely to constantly invite as many people as they can to a private chat, in the same way no one constantly invites as many people to a game room as they can.

You could even include an option to be able to block invites if necessary.

It would be a shame for such a good idea to be limited.

Then there is no need for it to be limited or unlimited.

End of the day it will get limited if its implemented despite what we think, just to save the hassle, if there isnt users that invite loads of users to a private room, then there isnt any need for private chat to be unlimited as it affects nobody...who would miss it?

But it just blocks the possibility of users inviting as many people as they want, it just isnt necessary as you even said users dont do it for game rooms.

I was only using guidelines with the numbers, wasnt set in stone.

Plus the fact that if it became ideal to expand the private chat capacity then im sure it can be expanded further.

Basically your arguement for it to be unlimited is ridiculos.

I dont see why this is even being debated looool.

But your not going to stop, and i know im right :D

But you win Jim, lets have it unlimited so it is vunrable to abuse...

Because not having the ability to abuse it is...silly?
