The one thing that bugs me about this game is that because you can aim the cursor anywhere on the table, pots where there is a big distance between cueball and objectball are just as easy as when there is a shorter gap between them.
Maybe it would be more realistic if you could only aim the cursor no further than a certain distance from the cueball , say half the length of the table.
I think this would add more to the game in the added skill required to pot longer shots and also mean even better control of the white required to avoid having to play these longer shots.
For some people (not me) the game is a bit too easy as they regularly rack up 100's.

on a top-down 2D game, its always going to be less realistic than normal snooker.
similar case was mentioned before about being able to put complete backspin on the cue even though it is tight to the cushion and impossible to do.
funkysnooker isnt realistic in all aspects, but it is only an online game for fun. Even if some people do treat losing a few ranking points as if they are fully paid professionals

Why?
Any body can pot on arcade and as i can see you play arcade. if you think it is to easy then go and play original, people are getting cents because they have worked hard in getting to know the table and angles and so on, takes time...go and play original and then come back and say it's to easy.

my point is not whether the game is easy or not ( as stated above i have never had a cent so i can't say it is easy)
what i am saying is that potting is no more difficult wherever the cuball is on the table as long as you can see the potting angle.
long pots should be harder to achieve than shorter ones
this would also reward someone who controls the white better (like yourself judging by stats)
also safety play would come into it a bit more

You really didn't have to be so rude about it though did you? Anyone can get a cent on Arcade just need the right spread it really doesn't take that much skill, if any.
Besides he has a very valid point long pots should be harder. However there is actually no way of making it possible on a 2D game as Lee said, although I quite like the idea I doubt very much it will come in.

i understand what your saying ......however I think it would probably increase the gap between the best and the rest.
At the moment on a given game anybody can beat almost anyone over a frame or two.(for example today I lost to an adept in a tourney who played very well after I made one mistake, getting one of ,if not his highest break....I would probably win 8 out of 10 vs same opponent).
I think if you made it harder 2 things would happen
1)the top players would be even harder to beat
2)a lot of players would give up as it becomes too hard to make any sort of break,so less players on site.
I like just as it is... personally.
(my highest break in the real world only 87......125 on this ...with a few chances at a 147 lol,,,,never gonna happen in real life)

Have you tried potting by aiming your cursor from a distance?
It's a bit impossible.
Also...long pots aren't as easy as short ones anyway as there is less margin for error on where you place your cursor on the long ones.
Another type of shot which is realistically too easy in comparison with the other shots is cushion shots, which on this game can be very easy.
It's the same for everyone though so there's not much of a problem.
I just like it how it is.

if people are complaining about how unrealistic it is to be able to use full backspin on the cusion...why not make another game on funkysnooker called realistic? then we wud have a new game to go onto instead of jus origional, regular arcade...it shud be arcade, regular, origional, realistic

Looool! Are they < ? loool
Urmm...on arcade...if i pot blue into corner pockets 'Long blue' then i have to have the cursor gapped by about the size of one of the balls...inbetween the blue and cursor =\
if that makes any sense?
But you cant really alter the shooting!
Everyone is in the same boat...(ovbiously there are some people that need to zoom and bigger monitors < cheating little..) So if you work just as hard..im sure you can pot the long balls so its just as easy.
The shooting isnt an unfair disadvantage to anyone.

In my opinion, being able to aim wherever you want on the table is one of the most important features of funkysnooker. It makes the game much easier to play and much more intuitive, which is one of the main reasons this game is so popular.
If we changed the game in any way to make long pots harder, we would bring an important part of realism by increasing the safety possibilities, but the site would lose a huge amount of members.
Oh and just a clarification about the following:
The fact is, aiming for long pots is easier than for short pots, because the farther the cursor is from the cue ball, the smaller the direction change is, compared to the cursor's movement.

i think arcade is fine as it is. u can miss long, short and any shot really. i think in acarde anyone reasonablly gud can beat anyone else even the best. i beat destroyer and a couple of other really gud players with big tournament wins. its all about luck in acarde and taking your chance when amongst the balls and also being brave from the break off shot.
