As many of you might know May 6th is the general election, just wondering who you're voting for and why?

Personally I'm voting for the Liberal Democrats.

Also I know the majority of the forumers will probably just dismiss this thread, because they'll be uninterested.

If you don't vote you can't complain about our country is how I see it!

good shout virt!

i was watchin the live debates the other day and i saw cameron copyin everything clegg was saying he would do!
He is so pathetic that he has to copy another leader which shows that IF he becomes prime minister he wont have a clue what to do!

As for Brown he has ruined our country from the moment he took over from blair! He put our country in to a recession and has struggled to get us out of it! Also during the live debate he stood there most of the time without sayin anything!

i believe in what clegg has been saying therefore i am going to give the man a chance to prove he worth therefore come 6th may i give my vote to the lib dems!!

The problem with these Prime Ministerial Debates is that they seem to have left a lot of people under the false impression that this election is presedential....

By the way, you won't be voting for Liberal Democrats (and probably not for any of the party leaders either), that's a bit of a misconception. Your vote isn't for the party itself, it's for a member of parliament from the constintuency in which you vote to represent that constintuency in the House of Commons.

My vote will be going to a man called Stephen Williams; a Liberal Democrat MP for Bristol West. He's done a good job since he was elected in 2005 and I see no reason for him not to continue.

I'm not much of a fan of any of the party leaders.

I wasn't either until watching the first debate, and I understand what you mean by my vote, but with Cameron or Brown in charge they won't want to look after the British family as much as would Clegg, which is one of my main reasons for doing so. Nice to see someone with a decent opinion on it all though!

Also, after Labour took us to two wars for, let's face it, profit so I couldn't stand another 4 years, or however long with them in power. I have a lot of friends in the forces and some of the stories I've heard is quite unreal, lack of equipment etc, hence why I'll never vote labour again, unless it radically changes.

Also the day Cameron made WebCameron was the day he lost my vote

its not fair to say Brown was responsible for putting the country into recession. No more so than it is fair to say President Obama put America into recession.
Developed countries were living beyond their means. Banks were lending money to developers and from other banks. Property was built at an unsustainable rate. Land prices went through the roof leading to greater loans. Eventually the 'property bubble' burst leading to the country being in recession. Not Browns fault.

Could the World Leaders have done more to stop this event occuring? possibly, i dont know.

I agree and disagree with you here. You are still voting for a particular Party. If you vote for a Lib Dem representative you are voting for a person who holds the Lib Dem ideals so in effect you are voting for the Lib Dems. They will represent your constituency but will still follow Lib Dem ideals at end of the day

Deco ~ Gordon Brown took all of the regulation away from the Bank Of England, which meant they couldn't act when it became clear exactly what the banks were up to.

Gordon Brown has made too many bad decisions over the years. Such as:

- Denying much needed funds and equipment for the army

- Selling the country's gold at the lowest market price

- Promising to abolish "Boom & Bust"

- Increasing Income Tax from 10% to 20%

...Need I go on?

All parties have their bad policies, that is unavoidable. It just goes on what people think is the lesser of the evils, so to speak.

Personally I'm voting Lib Dems. I'm sick of Labour and i believe the conservatives will put us back on the downward slope.

So we now have a hung parliament, with the Tories having the largest amount of seats. This begs the question 'will it work?' or could we have another election later this year?

its so interesting this year ive really got into all the political shannanigans etc,

Cleggy must be loving all this attention, fair play to him, considering they only got 50 seats, hes so so important it must be a right good buzz playing the two powers off against each other so he can get the best benefit for his party.

whatever happens i cant see my life changing too much maybe if conservative get in with clegg ill be skinter each week but other than that i dont have any confidence that major times of change, for the good are ahead of us!!
