I am on Team John Higgins anyway so...i stand by him w/e the scenario!

However i dont believe this to be to the scale that the media has dramatised dramatically, not in the slightest!

John is quoted by the top snooker pundits as "The perfect gentlemen" "The most prestigious embassedor the sports ever seen" etc, pretty sure its been highly overexaggerated!

It makes me angry because he is clearly soo upset at being there and as someone said before me - oh michael - it was you how is he meant to know what they are going to do to him if he say no???

OK, this issue defo not funny, really sad to see such a great player in a video like that.

he didnt have to lose a match, just had to lose 4 separate frames over a one year period and alert the people paying him 300,000 euro which frame he was going to lose, ie the 4th frame in a certain game and presumably the people paying him would bet on his opponent.

odds before a frame starts are always 5/6 for both players. easy for them to make money that way

Actually, having just looked in to both sides, the only that has been proven so far, is just what a rag the NOTW is. No suprise there, if you take that paper seriously then don't expect the truth. Why even put players in that situation, then print it during the finals?

Thats the frustrating thing, they way they timed it. Fair enough do the expose, but why not immediately instead of ruining the finals for so many innocent people, especially the finalists. Then the old "we'll publish more next week" tactic to sell more papers. Disgusting. But then, what do you expect from a tabloid.

I am dissapointed in Higgins though. Yes, he is shifty during that but he says an awful lot more than he needed to, and why were they even meeting these people anyway?

Saddest thing is that no matter what happens, the top man in the game at the time declared they could easily cover throwing a frame. Whatever sticks with Higgins, that's gonna hang over the game for a long time..
