erm probability of getting carom in RANDOM presumably 1/4.

1/4 ^ 4 = 1/64. so play 64 tournies and you can expect to get a run of 4 of the same once. Say 32 people enter a tourny 2 days running, you would expect one person to get a run of 4 the same.

Not that unlikely really .

On topic:

10s does annoy me i have to say. it opens the door for the players mentioned in the thread about "positioning vs potting ability" who just whack balls in and hope to finish on something, accepting a 30/40 break, as the players who can actually build a century break by good potting and good positional play dont have the time to actually work a shot out. It decreases the skill level of the game, which for the only tournament like it on snooker is sad.

As ive heard people ask for 2 randoms in the day, why not have 2, a random speed (10s) and a random (20s) and make everyone happy . Leave the time limit at 19 mins, if you cant finish a game of orig or carom in that time you are either never going to win the tournament or playing a tapper (in which case you are very unlucky).

I think i have lost the last 4 random tournys in the final to people that im alot better than.

But like Adam says, it opens the door for them as it requires alot more luck to win! (Because u will run out of position alot more)

So these potters that dont even use spin can beat me, and when they miss its all safe anyway! lol

Am i the only one who sees little difference between 10 and 20 second shot clocks? lol.

I've played most of you on this site and when its 20 secs you tend to take your shots within the first 10 seconds of the timer. Probably because you know you have spare time while 10 secs there is more pressure.

i agree, if you don't like 10 sec and you know the tourney could be 10 sec, then don't play

If that was the case chunky, then there would be no more than 5 users entering the tourny.

Sounds like ye are trying to make it easier for the better players on the site, like if i played adam or derry or damee in orig the only chance id have is the 10sec game put ye under a bit of pressure..

If there was 20secs i know for a fact i wouldn beat ye.

So i say leave it as it is

to be honest, when i started random, 10 seconds wasnt that bad because thats the only time i would have any sort of chance against the superhuman players like damee and destiny.

i dont mind if its changed or not personally.

EDIT: this should be called Random Speed Tournament instead of Random Multi Discipline because of the 10 seconds a shot time limit.
