This been on my mind a couple of weeks..
I think when you are "not responding" and as a result you forfeit the game and leave you should only lose a set amount of points no matter the rank of your opponent whether they be 600, 700, or 800 on.
Whats your thoughts?

Terrible idea that is open to abuse ... if they are losing to a lower ranked player (and therefore due to lose a lot of points), instead of getting thrashed they would just pull the plug.
Edit: removed extra 'instead'

I think people who know me know that is definitely not how I play and surprised that you would infer that I might (especially if it were to be the case, I would be in favour and not against this idea). But that is beside the point that there are people who would (and have in the past) abuse it.

Not saying you play like that iv never played you so i wouldn't know..
All im saying is its frustrating that it happens.. Maybe it should be looked into.

If theres a strong flaw in it, like buddy has pointed out i feel its not worth implenting.

i was going to say when you are not responding and you get logged out it isnt your fault it down to connection to the site so maybe when you get logged out you should only lose a set point like say e.g. 1.0 or the opponent should take the win and you lose no points , just a thought.

This is a decent idea in principle..... but some people may get logged out / DCed immediately (e.g. browser crashes), rather than be in the "not responding" mode for 90 seconds (due to internet connection issues).
It would be very difficult in such cases to differentiate between a legitimite technical issue, and a member who has decided to pull the plug himself, so to speak.

I'm 100% with buddytobud.
For example, say I manage get to 950 points on arcade and want to try for the high 900s. I start a match and it looks like I'm going to lose. Oh well, no problem. I'll just disconnect, lose 1 point and try again! What's to stop me from doing it?
You can say to me, would I really do that if I was losing? Personally I wouldn't do that but I'm absolutely certain that there are hundreds that would. Why shouldn't they after all?

there is a large number of users who would disconnect their internet just to avoid losing points.
i suggested something similar well over a year ago and got the same response. from the same person as it happens.
while it is a good idea for the honest users, usually they are the ones that arent fanatical about their rank and lets face it, there are way too many on here that are obsessed with their rank and cant stand to lose ranking points
