I think its a good idea but would be hard to regulate like you could have people winning tournaments at night when only about 10 people join..

Yeah, also 'player of the month' wouldnt be regulated fairly on this site.
As in real life 'player of the month' is where any player of any level plays exceptional or better than expected within their own ability.
Its so easy to look past the players that dont make 50 breaks reguarly as playing levels are so advanced now the players that arent so good are often overlooked.
Some people dont even realise that and will always vote Destiny or Arpeggi (etc), bcoz they commonly make big breaks. But unless they better themselves considerably then its hard to choose a player.
Also who would be voting? This site has hostility and favourbility so nobody would vote anyone other han their 'friends'.
So its more of a popularity contest in the end.
Just my opinion of course.

I quite like the idea of Player of the Month, but not if it is determined by votes by other members.
Probably the fairest way to do it would be to have the server calculate things like averages and/or ratios and award it to the person with the highest average/ratio.
Example:
Rank points: Won v Lost
Average points per game
Average break per game
Win:Game ratio
That's my thoughts on that subject, anyone like that idea?

Yea i think its a decent idea..
Just as Cue said, in this case the server wont recognize lower ranked players playing above their ability levels and will only vote for players who constantly play well..

Suppose that's true. But bearing mind that the server would only be looking at stats.
In that case, some sort of Threshhold system that means that players need to get past certain stats (ones mentioned above) to be elegible to compete for player of the month?

That might work.
Can the server maintain all of that information? I dont reckon its possible.
I think its impossible to determine unless it was decided by the server.
Also this could be easily exploited by continously playing lower ranked players consistantly which will keep your ratios higher.
Also the server wont be able to notice things like, If i played one game, won and got a significent break then my ratios would be very high. If I were to stop at that point, then it wouldnt be almost impossible to beat as the more you play it would drop.
So Id have 100% whereas someone that had played 500 games and won 400 of them would only have 80%.
Think its too tricky to establish.

Part of the threshhold would be, then, that you must play X amount of games, say at least 100 per month. Could be set higher though, depending on the average games per month per player.

That could be a good idea, would get more people to play aswell as there could be a rule that would mean people who dont reach their game quota wouldn't be included in the draw... Encouraging people to play more

Yeah. That way it's only going to be regular players who can compete for Player of the Month, and it also addresses the issue that Derry raised, so you can't stop at 1 game and expect to win the award.
