Yeah thats right, 'Cricket' played on a snooker table. Was thinking it would be good to have this so i decided to make this thread. There are different variations of the game but the rules in the link below:

http://www.snookergames.co.uk/games3.html

Also i did a search to see if there were any online games like SnookerCricket and struggled to find one.

Was thinking about possible stats aswell like

- Batting -
Highest score
Highest 'partnership' (Runs scored by the batsmen before a 'wicket' falls or between wickets)
Average score

- Bowling -
Average (runs conceded per wicket)
Lowest Score (That you've bowled an opponent out for) - Although players could get their mate to play them for a 0 score on this stat.

I'm sure we could think of more stats but these are just to get the ball rolling.

Thoughts?

I love cricket mate, and would like to see this kind of idea developed, may need a few tweaks here and their, but i like your thoughts.

Well done, any others with any variations of the above?

Yeah theres versions where only 3 reds but they're set in line with the yellow/green/brown but are between the pink and black. Wouldn't work on this site because any half decent played would be able to pot all 3 reds before the batsmen had a shot.

Thats why i posted something like the link above. Because i think it could give a fair chance because no one really knows how the balls will split. So some games could split favouring bowler, but some could favour batsmen. Kinda like cricket itself.

Ideally though. I'd look towards using 10 reds to replicate 1 red = 1 wicket.

I like the idea, sounds pretty cool and would definetely play it if it was on here. Sounds pretty class actually! Needed to re-read the rules though (thought the batsman was potting reds not colours)

how do the turns work though?

do I shoot and then you shoot? or do i keep shoot until I miss?

Presumably its every second turn?

Bowler opens the game up. If he doesn't pot then the Batsmen has his go. Alternate shots at each miss. So basically the turns are like snooker. If you don't pot it's your opponents go. If you do pot you continue.

and on another note:

BUMP!

Come on this is a great idea Deserves more of a response than this! Someone make sure Nick looks at it. Be good to see how easy/hard this would be to introduce.

i think it would be better to be every second turn instead of shooting until you miss.

That would be closer to the normal rules of cricket where the bowler bowls every time

It would probably have to be the above because people could just pot for ages.

Or you could limit it so the batsmen gets a maximum 50 shots an innings.

I can imagine there might be some interesting tactical battles. A bit like safeties in Killer.

Dont see why we shouldnt get another game... bit of a "novelty" game.... pool has golf why shouldnt we have cricket

why not have 3 formats as in real cricket?

Twenty20 - 20 shots max for batsman
One Day - 50 shots max for batsman
Test - Batsman pots till all 10 reds are potted. (maybe 2 "innings" each?)

Im pretty sure the best players could drag a "test match" out for 5 days if they were on form

Cool idea. Not very often something genuinely new crops up now!

I completely agree that a "novelty" game, like Golf on pool, would be a good addition. It would provide a change for regulars, and something different to attract new users.

Nice one.

Liking this feedback. Actually looks like every post develops or boosts the idea further.

Think the novelty game hits it spot on. Really think this would be a great addition.

The game can work both ways as a kind of light enjoyable game for two people to just enjoy.

Or two competitive players battling it out to see who comes on top.

Think this could be a ranked game? Golf on pool isn't ranked and that is a 'novelty' game. But then again Cricket is always 1 v 1 (or 1 team vs another)
