There is now a new option to get a premium account for free.

http://www.funkysnooker.com/viewOffers.do

You need collect a number of coins by completing particular offers, watching videos, or signing up to websites. In addition there are some offers that return high number of coins for purchases. Some of you may be familiar with this structure from other online games. I have used it successfully myself on facebook games.

This is aimed at those who want a larger window but don't wish to directly pay for it.

Q. I have just bought premium, can I use this instead?
A. Yes, but only if you have paid for the premium account in the last 60 days and when you have already collected sufficient coins.

Q. 1600 coins is too difficult a target, can I do partial amounts?
A. I will monitor this and look into doing a 3 or 6 month option.

Would have been a lot better if you had to earn it via in game play, tournaments high breaks etc, this just seems a little preachy.

It is an alternative way to fund the premium purchase.

If it's done through game play it basically means giving away a number of free accounts - which isn't feasible or fair to other members who have paid.

A very occasional free premium account or occasional free coins would be the maximum possibility here - but this certainly couldn't be a primary way to get premium accounts.

Which is what I meant, one of tournaments, certain days picked at random where most cents in a certain discipline gets an account just examples, would just reward long term members a lot more then signing my life away to a pointless site I'm probably never going to use again after I've got the premium account.

Some of the offers do seem 'preachy', but at the end of the day these offers provide some income to the site, which compensates Nick for giving free Premium.

I would think in order to award coins during tournaments would require some sort of sponsorship of the tournaments, through advertising or other methods.

top_dog, if you're worried about spam you can use an alternative email address. Completing enough offers will give a similar income as paying for premium directly.

It wont be for everyone - eg those who don't like adverts or have the time, but it is an alternative for those who don't want to pay directly.

I understand that, all I'm saying is rewarding achievements would have gone down a lot better, and probably increase site numbers whereas signing up to British Gas isn't really top of the agenda for most people.

Are all the sites that one would have to sign up for legit?

Do I have to click a liability agreement that I wont hold funkysnooker responsible for any loss or damage to my computer or its contents? You know the usual stuff

Edit 1: €12 is alot cheaper to buy premium than to sign up to potentially damaging sites/downloads

Edit 2: We get a full refund into the paypal account if we collect the necessary coins? All coins have to be collected within the 60 day period?

But how would Nick receive income for the site if he were to simply give away coins for nothing in return?

He is paid to advertise it on his site... same as all the other advertising?

Yeah the offers would provide a similar amount of income as a direct payment for Premium.

It does not seem to be as effective as I thaught, I signed upto the kitten one (not for the coins just cus I have a kitten)

And I did not recieve the coins it said I should of so thats a major floor right there!

Why sign up if your not gonig to recieve the reward lol

Also I have had previous things on old sites and yeah it's all above board, just just for further piece of mind only use the sites like Lovefilm or big names as they are definatly trust worthy and there is never going to be the issue of computer problems

And I believe Nick will get paid for every person who signs up, so Instead of getting paid to have these offers available people have to physically sign up for him to recieve the correct amount hence why the coin amounts differ so when you finally get 1,600 coins that will be Nicks £10

si123, it can take a while to be credited. I added a Facebook app yesterday via pool and it took about an hour for me to get my coins.

Tip: click on the "Missing coins" link to check the status of your offers.

si123 exactly - the funding is provided by filling the offers, and as cmurphy says, please give some time to receive the coins. I have had very good response from gWallet (the offer intermediate) when querying any missing coins.

g_echo_l - there should be no problematic sites - but use your usual common sense when dealing with new sites. There are a lot of sites and offers available so any problem please let me know. Doing online offers for reward isn't for everyone - it can be timely.

Yes. I can only give paypal refunds within 60 days of the payment so you need be in a position to "swap" at that point.

Ok 1 problem with 1 survey.

DO NOT do the LoveFilm.com advert

After your free trial has ended, it automatically deposits money out of your account balance thus ending you in massive debt.

Even if you where to cancel your existing account; It takes up to 48 hours for it to process, and you have to ring them up which also costs you a fortune, Plus you have to give them a really good reason as to why you are leaving!

I think its a brilliant idea, I myself wouldn't take it up, but for the simple reason that I'd probably just confuse myself with the websites.

But for players who've been around on this site for a while, this is a good way to reward them for loyalty.

No you dont have to give a good reason they just ask why, But you might be credited with 1 month payment (this I dont no about) but when you ring up wishing to cancel you can say "I wanted to do the 1 month free trail to see if I would benifit and I have not" and they will close your account for you and nuthing further will happen

Also on this matter I have just read:

Coins awarded when you sign up for a 2 months for the price of 1 with a valid bank card and address. You must add 10 titles and receive your 1st rental to guarantee your Coins

So it tells you all about what you are letting yourself in for

If you do want to do an offer for payment the Rebtel offer seems pretty good. $10US for $10US credit on Rebtel and 2000 coins.

Yes. Also the credit for rebtel is pretty useful too, it's a decent service in particular for calling abroad. (Disclaimer: I've not used their service for the last 2 years, but it was good.)
