Heres my suggestion. For many moons people have been moaning about playing people who are newbies but not newbies if you know what i mean.
I dont know if ths is possible but, something along the lines of , you sign up to Funky. You start playing, upon triggering an achievement , I.E 3 half centuries or a tournament win, your automatically not a newbie in that discipline anymore, or 100 games , whichever happens first. If they are at the standard of hitting runs, halfs or tournaments, they do not need the newbie protection.
This should remove that old moaning topic above, and if its set realistic, like 3 runs of 5+ or 3 50's and not 1, then people cant complain that the one they got was a fluke,
There could even be an announcment : Masteful escaped newbie status on regular after just 22 games.
Or something like that.
Its just a sketchy idea.

Seems to be pretty well thought out, solves the problem too. Great idea.

It makes a lot of sense, but the problem is it also removes the protection the system gives to regular players from "fake newbies".
By that I mean, if you lose a ranked game to someone who has just signed up with a new username, or has just reset their account, the amount of rank you lose is minimal due to the newbie adjustment.
If that player had lost newbie status due to winning a tournament, for example, their rank would still only be 675 so you could potentially lose a lot more rank then you would as it is now.
Edit - actually so long as reaching a rank of, say 800, was a condition, that solve that issue

We could make a clause that if you reset, your not a newbie, may also stop people doing that so often too,

maybe call it reset but with the newbie rank system?
Maybe like this:
Arcade: Reset (Professional)

I like it the way it is, If a newbie joins your game you leave, Simple enough but if your not worried about loosing does it matter
I would play anybody ranked 500 - 950 so why would I be scared to play a newbie? if I loose its becuase I played poor so ideas like this dont really have an impact for me
Also it tells you pre game 'Warning player is ranked much higher than you'
And when i first came here from Pool I was alright at it and I wouldnt of liked to loose my newbie tag when I wasnt ready end of day maybe just decrease newbie tag to 50 games but you could actually be a newbie and hit 3 halfs in 100 games

Personally I think the current system is great. Its 100% fair to everybody. I have had probably 20 different accounts and in less than 5 games I could have 3 half cents making me not a newbie anymore under the above suggestion. I could beat an 830 ranked player then as a 680 player and take probably 7 points off them. Whilst I have the newbie tag I would only take maybe 2 or 3 points off them. Thats perfectly fair.
The only thing I would like added is for it to tell you what sort of newbie they are. So it could say (newbie, professional) instead of just (newbie) after your name.

Looking through some pages in different threads whocares8x8 made a brill point by saying, surely it should not matter who you play, because you should play your best every time.
I don't just into a league snooker game in real life and look at the player, think they are a newb and might miss, so smash the pack up because it is inevitable that one day a new will either be lucky or be that damn good that they will clear up.
At the end of the day (and i know that this will annoy people) but it is your choice to select yes to a game vs a newb.
JUST SAY NO!
