Hi all,
I just waited ages for an arcade tourney there. 1st game, couple shots each and the newbie clears... not the way it should be!
I vote to restrict they're gaming limits. Just like they cannot post till they have 100 games. They should not have touny privilages either till they have 100 games. At least then when you see pro or adept etc, then your regular 'honestly ranked' player can ajust his/her game accordingly.
I believe fake newbies are an on going problem. But this might also encourage the 'fakes' to play an honest account for a change!
Thanks for reading,
i_cue

Can't quite see your point ... it was a tourney match (which has absolutely nothing to do with rank) and you lost simples.
Are you saying that newbies shouldn't be allowed to enter tournies in case they beat you?

here's my problem with the argument. you should always play your best, no matter who you're playing.
if you "adjust", for example by smashing the pack (because you think a perceived weak player will miss eventually), then you're taking a risk. if they clear, then that risk didn't pay off. same with careless safety shots.

Seems like the game of Snooker to me I would never smash the pack or change my game against whoever I play in real life. It leads to inevitable failure.

Seems to me your upset 'cause you probably expected a win.
Lesson of funkysnooker here for you mate,
Rank means nothing.

agree with i cue, fake newbies are ruining games-im a good(bit of an understandment) player but i only play ranked killers, dont touch ranked games because far too many people keep reseting scores. Players should be made to better their scores not have an easy option of starting again.

fake newbs are everywhere, moons is right, rank means nothing on here as on a bad day you can be beat by nearly everyone on the site.

greatest: there's an easy way of avoiding fake newbies in ranked games ---- don't play them!! there's an idea...
in tourneys, rank doesnt matter at all. in order to win a tourney you must be able to beat everyone, regardless of whether their name comes with a 'newbie' or a 'virtuoso'

Thats a fair point.
I'm just saying that in my opinion, tourneys should be restricted to players that are not newbies. Same as posting on the forum! It's like having extra perks for being a non-newbie.
And so to be eligible to play touneys players must take the site and the system seriously by fufilling an honest, ranked account. It's a fair argument.
Otherwise, "why not allow fake-newbies to post in the forums?" They could be a member years longer than me and would be just as entitled to an opinion surly!
I hav'nt got any newbies posting an argument against me!
I've nothing against real newbies. It's great to have new players! But when they join they will have more of an insentitive to keep playing i.e looking foward to playing tourneys and posting.

Forums are quite a different matter completely. I think the reason for restricting posting rights on the forums is to limit the number of time wasters and trouble makers (not entirely successful admittedly considering some of the posts, but no system is infallible )
