I would still say the time limit needs adjusting. I have just played a good player in the tournament and he broke first. he just edged me on frame 1, 70-50 or something, then i took the 2nd one 95-10ish. we both play at a similar speed but i knew he wouldnt miss in the 3rd so the only thing i could do was to try to take the full 20s on each shot and play safe to run the clock down. even doing this i still left 3 minutes which was easily enough for him to win the match.

The tactics i tried are unsporting and im sure that they arent what the game is trying to encourage, but as more people become able to break and clear easily it will happen more.

I would say the average frame time should be worked out and then multiplied by 4 so there is a chance for an even number of break-off shots each. Rather like in carom it is set to always give an even number of innings so break isnt a big advantage.

and no im not just annoyed cos i lost to derry after he hadnt played for like 3 years or something . haha

I'd have to disagree with that because, when the professionals were playing in real life, it seem a valid and acceptable tactic. It would be unfair to say that they were unsporting as professional snooker players are amongst the most sporting individuals going.

the difference bud is that they are playing for money, whereas this is a game which should be played for fun.

I don't think that can be counted as a factor because they are always playing for money and yet they still display the highest level of sportsmanship.

so you would say that if you were in say original final and there was 50k on it, and you could tap safe to win the match then you wouldnt? you would give the other player a chance?

I thought we were talking about power snooker where the clock is an integral part of the game and part of the game is to utilise it to your best advantage. The scenario you put forward has nothing to do with this argument but the answer would be that it would depend on whether the tap was a valid shot or not.

are you suggesting that tapping is unsportsmanlike?

Basically Adam is right.

I was the player he played in the tournament and first frame was even, second frame he took the lead. But a player of my skill, which is the very highest let me assure you... When I break off in the 3rd frame, if I pot and land on a colour which is far from difficult then I then get an extra chance to tally points.

I believe that the greater % of players who break first will win. This shouldnt be the case and isnt the case in real life amongst professionals.

This to me clearly indicates that there is a timing issue. Also when I break first I have never lost.

The timing of roughly 5-7 minutes a frame will always leave an extra minute+ for the first player to score extra points. Obviously the player needs to pot off the break or the shot after but its easy to do so.

My soloution is that you make the break harder to pot or only give one shot from the break. Otherwise the clock should be increased to fit right.

Lag for break - nearest to line off left cushion back to line - you can hit two cushions max

Thus the break is won and gives some players an advantage.

For two good players but not necessarily fast players those who break first have a clear advantage most times

I think a fair few people just got kicked off the game mate. A few double DQs in the Arcade Tourny aswell. Nothing to do with a bug in power I don't think.

Like I said 'a fair few' so not everyone had the problem. A load of people got logged out, (myself, my opponent in the game i started and several of my friends list) Plus just now about half the members bar simultaneously not responded at the same time. I'm getting 'connection failing' literally when i'm online so I think it's definitely that that has prevented you making the Final.

Just check out the Arcade Tourny now:

Clear it's server problems.
