Snooker Shoot Out is on Sky Sports 2 at the moment.

It does seem to be very close rules to a funkysnooker one frame tournament knock out, significant changes are:
- 20 second shot time reduced to 15 second half way through the game
- Ball in hand after any foul
- Frame ends after 10 minutes and winning player goes through

Did anyone watch it? What do you think?

EDIT: Fix post, of course it's ball in hand not free ball.

Yea i have. Been good as the crowd can shout and that like a dart crowd makes it more entertaining than sat in silence, Just another way of gettin snookers image a bit more "modern".

Be hard to work on here as most game are over within 5 mins.

Yes - the atmosphere is good.

From my point of view it would be fairly simple to add, but you're right the total time may have to be reduced.

Yeah it is good fun, and i have started to like the new snooker types power snooker as it's becoming abit more like pool you can shout and everything all the way though good fun definatly

And yeah nick I like this idea on here but as you mentioned the overall time will have to be reduced maybe to 5 minutes for Arcade tables 10 mins for Reg/Orig as they seem to take alot longer lol

Obviously we dont get that atmosphere online lol but it's nice to see new changes within Snooker itself

Whats good aswell is how the pros automatically adapt to all the new changes just put their heads down and get on with it

just read the rules with the link (even though i don't trust wikipedia) and sounds good, especially the "lag" at the start but you should fix the "cheat" lag on carom before you implement this as this could be used the same way (im taking it their is pockets on this lag shot also)

The lag is just a normal lag hit it straght down the table and back, all the balls are still on the table so a bit daft if you try and come of more than one cushion.

I like the sound of this,

but I dont like the way snooker as a game is turning, it's less thought out and more instinct now, not as much tactics or tactical battles in games such as power snooker and this new shoot out, but I think it would be a good addition.

I watched it last night, I thought it was ok, but not as good as the power snooker IMO.. But I do love the blue ball shoot out

just to clear up if you mean ball in hand by free ball? free ball to me always meant you can pot a colour as a red etc, whereas in the games ive been watching on sky its ball in hand. Also a ball has to hit a cushion every shot. This would certainly stop people just pushing out of snookers .
