The Joe Davis Classic is a new event which will be played in memory of the introducer of the Snooker World Championship and the 15 time world champion who died on June the 10th 1978 at the age of 77.

The Joe Davis Classic will consist of 16 players. Playing in a 4 groups of 4 and the top 2 players from each going through to the quarter final. We will be looking for 4 virtuoso's, 8 professionals and 4 Adept/Intermediates (p.s. This might change closer to the time)

Each group will consist of 1 Virt, 2 Pro's and 1 Adept/Int. Each group stage match will be out of 4 (all 4 frames must be played).

Points system for group stage:

Win: 2 pts
Draw: 1 pt
Loss: 0 pts

The Quarter-Finals will be Best of 5, Semis best of 7 and Final best of 9.

The Joe Davis Classic, like this Arcade Masters event, will give the Intermediates/Adepts a chance to play the Professionals and Virtuosos and match themselves up with the best. Good luck to all and wish you all the best for the rest of this event and the next

Well, as i said on the 2011 Arcade Masters thread, your rank and seed will be as i see them when I add you to the list unfortunately.

oh right, so there could end up having 2 virts in one group

But if lets say 3 players in the Pros section either become Virt or Adept, there'll be too many of each, so it's best if ur rank and seed stay as i see them when adding you.
