all we see is arcade and not so much of carom / power snooker
players are all improving in carom and everyone enjoys a bit of power snooker but there is not enough tourneys to make the good players happy
even original , loads of players are very talented in this game type and they want to show off in tourneys
we could even think of you choose what type every hour so if you wanted to play carom you pressed carom and if you wanted to play original then you could just press that and you would be able to join.
yes some mabye disagree with me but deep inside you everyone would love to decrease the amount of arcade tourneys as its not because all the couch potatos that just sit on arcade.
plus in arcade its a smack of break get a red in and you have chance to clear, this does not give opponents a chance to either play a saftey or hit the pack

just counted these Tournaments in 1 day (could be more however as it doesn't show over 24 hours)...
22/36 Arcade (16/36 Micro)
5/36 Original
4/36 Regular
2/36 Power
1/36 Carom
1/36 Random
Before Micro there was 9 Arcade Tournaments
Micro wouldn't be so bad if...
A) Less than Currently
or
B) Variety with different game types
now that to me proves there are too many Arcade Tournaments for my liking was too many Arcade before but now its all about Arcade and the other types now has less value because of it

Here are the number of entrants for the arcade tourneys for 11am to 11pm yesterday..
31, 26, 40, 41, 50, 43...Total of 231 at an average of 38.5 for each tourney.
Here are the entrants for carom..
11
and regular...
14, 19, 19 (midnight tourney)....Total of 52 at an average of 17.3
and original....
13, 11...average of 12
So to sum up..
Arcade 38
Reg 17.3
Orig 12
Carom 11
These figures show what the majority want.
However i do agree that it would be good, if possible, to have a choice at each hour of which tournament you want to enter.

micros are a good idea but i think alot people play to have tourny wins on their stats. Maybe introducing space on your profile for micro wins and maybe taking away the tournapoints awarded???

Why?
Why is there not an average of 38 players entering regular and original and carom?
Please don't think i have anything against the other types but arcade is the most popular.
And as for micro tourneys i think they are a bit of a waste, i would not award any tourna points and maybe even put a limit on the rank that can enter them to give newbies and lower ranked players more chance of learning about tournament play.

Thats why they introduced friendly tournaments.

Just something to bring to the attention of those throwing figures around about tournament entries. In the last carom tournament 8 of the 12 entrants had won a tournament before. I'm willing to bet in any given arcade tournament the fraction of entrants with a tourney win is less than 2/3.
What am I trying to say? Lets take it for granted that people enter tournaments because they want to win. With very few reg/orig/power/carom tournies all the big names who want to win a tourny enter at that time if they can. In these more difficult game types, the chance of a beginner taking out a top player is much slimmer, you won't see a 20%er knock fuzzy out of a carom tournament for example. So said beginner looks at the entrants, sees a few big guns in there and gives up as they have no chance of winning.
Introducing more non-arc tournies would I suspect spread the top players out a bit more, opening the way for newer players to take on a less experienced field and hence numbers of entrants rise, and the other game types grow in popularity.
For the game to become increasingly arcade dominated would be tragic in my opinion, as surely a proper snooker game should be the front game of the site, not a dumbed down version where half the "professionals" struggle to make half cents on open tables. That however is a different rant.
Point made.

Why?
Why is there not an average of 38 players entering regular and original and carom?
might be because everyone knows winning the other tournies does not win you the daily event, it has to be arcade which is why a lot more enter.
plus its a lot easier to pot on.

Figures for carom could be because it is at 5pm GMT when a lot of people are just leaving work. If it was around 7pm maybe the figures would be greater.
Plus if it was more publicised on here as much as arcade is then more people may have a go.
