This topic has probably been discussed before but i can't find the thread but i no it's relevant. I(collective i) think there should be more tournaments every day other than arcade to suit everyone's different game. I think theres only 3 regular tournaments per day and one is in the morning and 1 late at night. i think the same can be said about original and carom as well. Surely they can be evened out a bit more to maybe please different players other than the arcade fan.

Disagree to be honest. Arcade is the most popular and everyone plays it.

You have to feed the majority and the majority enter arcade tourneys.

Arcade sux thats first mostly played by people who cant play other discipline and people who cant disagree with u m8 I personaly agree

I believe i am quite good across all the disciplines but i play arcade the most as i find it the most enjoyable, not bacause i can't play the others.

But why have 10 orig tourneys a day (for example) and have 10 people enter and only 10 arcade tourneys a day (for example) and have 40 people enter?

As i said, you have to cater for the masses. If there was a big shift and suddenly 40/50 people entered the original tourneys and only 20 were entering the arcade i would then say you should have more orig tourneys but until then i think the current schedule is fine.

I'm not saying reduce the arcade tournaments because i enjoy them to, or am i saying introduce the same amount of other tournaments. I just feel that adding 1 more reg and original tournament would give people more freedom when entering and not have to wait ages or stay up late to to want to play them.
Surely adding 1 more to the schedule wouldn't do any harm and i think it would please allot of players

And also, maybe the introduction of more tournaments would give more people a chance to win 1. This could result in more players enjoying other tables as well as arcade and loose the repetition factor for players.

all we see is arcade and not so much of carom / power snooker

players are all improving in carom and everyone enjoys a bit of power snooker but there is not enough tourneys to make the good players happy

even original , loads of players are very talented in this game type and they want to show off in tourneys



we could even think of you choose what type every hour so if you wanted to play carom you pressed carom and if you wanted to play original then you could just press that and you would be able to join.

yes some mabye disagree with me but deep inside you everyone would love to decrease the amount of arcade tourneys as its not because all the couch potatos that just sit on arcade.

plus in arcade its a smack of break get a red in and you have chance to clear, this does not give opponents a chance to either play a saftey or hit the pack

ive always said there is too many arcade tournaments (even before micro), arcade is now face of the site which means the other types has less value (especially with tournapoints this is unfortunately the case).

Pl has US, UK and 9 ball micro tournies so why can't we have variety of game types like pl as you usually have 8 entries in every discipline, even carom.

I don't enter many tournaments, i don't care about rank, tournamedals or tournapoints but i do care that arcade is the face of the site when there are other game types out there. even if i liked arcade (which i don't) then i would still say there are too many.

This seems to be an argument with the people that like arcade (the majority), over the people that like orig, carom and power (the minority), Even though i like arcade i think there should be more variety but arcade is the main attraction of this site now. The arcade tournaments get 40 players as to orignal's 10 thats 1 reason they will keep it the same.

yeah i would say more variety in micro, all it needs.

ill say one more carom, i love carom, but im not on at that time to play the tourney

Here are the number of entrants for the arcade tourneys for 11am to 11pm yesterday..

31, 26, 40, 41, 50, 43...Total of 231 at an average of 38.5 for each tourney.

Here are the entrants for carom..

11

and regular...

14, 19, 19 (midnight tourney)....Total of 52 at an average of 17.3

and original....

13, 11...average of 12
So to sum up..

Arcade 38
Reg 17.3
Orig 12
Carom 11

These figures show what the majority want.

However i do agree that it would be good, if possible, to have a choice at each hour of which tournament you want to enter.

People dont play the carom tournament because there are not enough to suit the times of when people are online.

Another reason is that people play 1 or 2 games of carom and because they dont understand how to play it the dont play it again. if there were more carom tournaments then it would encourage more people to learn how to play the game and increase the amount of people who join the tournaments

Yes, arcade does get allot more people joining but if you were to average out the times of completion for "50" entrants for arcade and "19" for regular then the reg tournament would outlast the arcade. Even tho theres less entrants in these tournaments they still put in the same amount of effort to win 1. Adding another tournament would probably get the same numbers witch isn't a bad thing considering the time and skill needed to win 1. I cant see no negative aspects in including at least 1 more tournament in each game.

Maybe a trial period of say 2 weeks would be a good thing. At the end of the trial period they could then analyse the figures and if they were not working out then not including them would be justified

Yes the 50 man arcade tourney would finish quicker as there are 5 less reds and its an easier game to clear so i don't see your point.

With any business you have to cater for the masses, if you don't you will lose most of your clientele but i certainly would like to see a choice of tournaments at the same hour if this was possible? Maybe even fit the tournaments in on the quarter past the hour?

The point i was trying to make was adding more tournament's wouldn't affect numbers of people entering the arcades. The same number of arcade players would still enter and in all probability the same amount of other players would enter the other tournaments. It just gives the people entering regular, original etc more of a chance to get more tourny wins on their stats just like the arcade player can.

My point on the time of the tourny was that because reg/original last longer the fact that they gets less players than arcade shouldn't matter. They both have v strong players so adding more wouldn't make it easier to win 1.

I do agree with tournaments on the hour though which would give players more of a choice.
