Ok, here's a linguistic one for you to try:

Take the word ERGRO.
Put three letters in front of it, and the same three letters behind it to form a common English word.

What are the 3 letters....?

Und? So it becomes Underground?

oops sorry buddy.

I think this one is new

What 5 letter word can be rearranged 3 times to get 3 different words each containing 1 more syllable? The word has no duplicates of letters
1)----- 1 syllable
2)----- 2 syllable
3)----- 3 syllable

Was a tough one, but how about ....

Aides which can be rearranged into daies or saide for 1, aside for 2, and ideas for 3

Edit: typo

But nothing at all
For three.

Another one:

What English word is nine letters long, and can remain an English word at each step as you remove one letter at a time, right down to a single letter. List the letter you remove each time and the words that result at each step.

Nice one ... will think about this until I come on later tonight (unless I get it before I go out of course).

You don't half make my brain have to work hard with these vocabulary based ones lol ... take pity on an old guy please

Was easier than I first thought when I realised it was better to start the opposite way round instead of trying to look for a 9 letter word *slaps forehead*

Ok, had a rethink ....

startling
starting
staring
string
sting
sing
sin
in
i

Probably should have started with 'i' in the first place because of the 'ing' potential but typically went for an alphabetical approach instead or the logical one.

Hope this one is the right one this time (I've got work to do that I've been putting off instead lol)
