There is an ultra secret and ultra exclusive society that has 10 members. The society has a secret number. Whenever mentioning a number, a society member must always first add the secret number and then give the result instead of the original. At a meeting of the society I asked a member how many members were in the society. He whispered the answer to another member, who in turn whispered to the next and so on and so forth until the last member said out aloud 26.

What is the secret number?

Edit: btw you must give reasoning so people don't just guess at number lol

ok new theory, is it something to do with whispering? only you emphasize that a lot and normally when trying to keep a riddle unsolved you stress the word you are trying to fool people with .

I'm going go for 15

As 10 members = +1 = 25

And as you asked first you will be the missing 1 to make 26?
