had an idea, have timed carom game say 5-10 minutes and score as many points as possible so this would negate the 1st to 5 points discussion we was having.

like it. mind you watching destiny whack 10 runs in for 10 minutes could get tedious when its like 150-3 lol.

That does sound pretty good!
Traditionalists might argue that carom is always played to a certain points barrier, but this would definitely make it more exciting and get rid of the "really really short games" syndrome.

also a game like mini golf where you can play alone.

Yea i think you can do that already; its called practice.

There is two games of carom going on now, i think carom needs to be a bit popular or more than four people playing it at a time before all these ideas can be mentioned.
Although there was 6 games of carom running the other day(more than power and killer) which was nice to see
More needs to be done for people can learn the rules to it.

Also can carom tournament be swapped with the random or 9.30 original tournament?
Not to suit me or out, But there be over a 100 more users on between 8-9, this would suit people who come in from school, still at work ect, And plus the random always seems to have 3 or 4 in it anyway.

i know but mini golf you can play alone and there is a leaderboard for it, just feel we need a game where we can play alone with a leaderboard (not practice) and this would spice up carom

I like the idea of Power Carom, doesnt have to duplicate power snooker im just using that as an example.

On a creative note, it wouldnt need to comply with the basic boundries of normal carom. If you got a 5 run of normal carom, then maybe every point is doubled. If you get to 15 (which would be 10 in normal carom) its then doubled again. Meaning a 20 run in normal would actually be 55 in 'power carom'.

It would then start a new challange of what im calling 'Crazy Carom'. My idea is based on a 5 second brain wave so obviously can be made better lol. If it was a game that would have to last the full 10 minutes, would make it a lot more enjoyable.

Good idea but I can't see it being added. Carom isn't popular enough as it is without adding another variation of it.

What would happen is the main Carom players would move over to play Power Carom, competing to be the best, and hardly anybody would play normal Carom. This would probably only be temporary, as activity is always highest when a new game is added, but it would make the normal Carom section look incredibly inactive, and that would in turn deter even more people from wanting to play it in the future, and deter beginners from wanting to learn the rules. (After all, who wants to learn the rules to a game that nobody plays?).

It's an idea to keep noted, but probably shouldn't be implemented until the Carom section is as active as, say Regular for example.

all is needed is change current carom with 5 or 10 min time limit and take away 5 points to win.

can't be too hard to add surely as you could take timer from power.

probably will never happen but players who play carom can end a frame in 4-5 mins.

carom tournie would have to be 1st to 5 points as normal so its not too long.
