Tournament Wise:

Equal Effort - Double DQ (no other way)
No Effort - Double DQ (only fair)
One Sided Effort - Effort goes through

Money Wise:

Person who makes no effort or gives the win to their opponent will lose the potential prize money for that tournament.

sometimes you have to tap to see who makes 1st mistake.

not really james, in proper snooker if it drags on with stupid tapping they re-rack if both agree, unless u want to fall asleep hitting the white a mm all night

Peter Trower looked excited to be in the World Championships, sarah broke off in the first frame and potted straight away and left Trower watching, non the less both had a chance to win the frame with breaks in the 30's and both missing relatively easy shots to take the frame, finally the frame went to sarah who fought hard.
The 2nd was still a bit scrappy with sarah not taking her chances and Trower taking the frame with 2 breaks in the 40's. Trower looked settled and nailing frames with breaks of 65, 74 and 86 to take a 5-1 lead in this first round of the World Championships.

Trower is looking forward to the second round

thats difference between experienced players and ones who don't like tapping, they will slow the game down to make you get a mistake so they can win. older players such as myself and buddytobud we like the tactical game and will do so if there isn't a pot available its just a case on who makes 1st mistake.

its not a case of making a mistake IMO, its a case of getting bored

I don't like tappers either, but it's not against the rules and you have to be able to deal with them.
