I have to say, the new sounds are nowhere near as good as they were.

I always listen to music off of my laptop, and whilst listening to music, I cannot hear the new sound because it is not as catchy and as prominent as the old "BOING".

I don't see the reason that they were changed, everyone new what the old sound was like, and it was very distinctive, and people knew it was a new tournament or invite..

But not which, which is why it was requested to be changed.

As discussed earlier voice prompts could be used, but I hadn't considered choosing a sound effect that should be able to be heard over music.

It would really depend on the volume of the music though wouldnt it!

i agree with adam, wasnt any need to change it IMO.

I can clearly hear the clacking of the balls above the music when I play.
I use iTunes for my music, and it is on 3/4's volume.

You realise you can alter sound volumes on the game indirectly?

If you lower the iTunes music and turn up the system sound the music volume will be the same, but funkysnooker will be louder (and vice versa to make it more quiet).

I'm unsure as to whether the game should only use sounds that contrast to music, but maybe a chime could occur for new tournaments instead (this is the only sound having been altered).

Nick is there anyway that u could incorporate into the game a break system like they have on t.v like it tells u what colours u have potted exactly during the break .. just a quick one is all :D

Yes, I do know that this will increase funky's sound level, but what I'm saying is, that I could clearly hear the old "BOING" sound that funky used to use, and now with the new sound, I cannot hear it, as it is much lower in tone, so it is not as easy to hear.

I'm not so sure about the voice prompt option. I work in a place where the elevator has voice speaks to you (i.e. "going up", "floor 4"), and for the first week it was lovely and she sounded very polite. now her voice has grown a bit old/annoying and i would much prefer the typical elevator ding. I think something more subtle (obviously distinguishable enough to call attention to the notification like the boiinnnng did) would be more appropriate. especially with the introduction of more and more tournaments. voice prompts may wind up growing old very quickly.
