Hi all. i have a problem with the wireless connection on my laptop. Lately the wireless connection keeps dissconecting and reconnecting by itself. It doesnt happen all the time but happens in spells. All the other laptops in my house connect fine so i dont think there's a problem with the router.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Ty

Ring up your ISP and tell them you're having problems.
Also in future, post this kind of thing here:

cheers jack for that suggestion but i've just done a driver check to see what drivers are out of date. the wireless network adapter has come up as being out of date. I used driver detective to do this but im pretty sure i remember this software only doing the check for free and having to pay for the updates.
Do you know if theres a way i can update for fee?

i'd already done this before i used driver checkers. It said that the driver was running fine and didnt need updating but both driver fetch and driver detcetive says it needs updating. At a similar time to when the wireless started playing up the audio stopped working. This to was said to be runnig fine too but it had another option to roll back the driver to when it was working fine which ive just done and now it is working fine. Dont konw if the 2 problems are linked

i have it sometimes too but mine would turn itself off and restart itself and in game when im on 60/90 or 83/90 in disconnect mode it would be fully ready again.
after that its usually fine but happens once or twice a week i think before we got new modem a few months ago it was doing it 3 times a day.

Really annoying aint it lol. The router is off mostly at night so doubting doing that will fix my problem but will try it later on nun the less. Cheers for suggestion m8 and 2 u jack
im also doubting it is a problem with the router as all the other laptop connections in my house seem 2 be running fine.

Usually if the audio stops working and you can't fix it alot of times by doing:
Start
Click 'Run'
Type in 'services.msc'
Scroll down to Windows Audio
Right Click 'Properties'
Make sure start up type is on 'Automatic'
And then just click 'Start'
Thats the typical way to fix audio problems if it re-occurs
And with your WiFi keep disconecting
Lets try something simple:
Try this when you are conected and if that doesnt work try it when you loose conection
Start > Run
Type in CMD
Then type these commands:
ipconfig /release (Wait for the connection to release)
Then after doing so type:
ipconfig /renew (And wait for the connection to re-establish)
Make sure you renew you connection after you release it and make sure you type it exactly as I have done!
Also another little tool that will help you out alot is:
Start > run
Now type in EVENTVWR and press ok
Look under 'System'
Look for any errors or warnings that might help you out
----
That's all I can think of mate let me know if you find anything
Start
Click 'Run'
Type in 'services.msc'
Scroll down to Windows Audio

i tried the release/ renew thing in run. I mnot sure anything happened accept 4 this txt box thing flashing up. Doing the release 1 tho didnt disconnect the internet if it was supposed 2. I typed in EVENTVWR as well and a summary of
administrative results comes up. It seem spretty confusinf but i clicked on the errors link and of all the things that came up most of which i didnt realy understand lol i couldnt see 1 that looked like it had anything to do with the wireless connection

anyway if i do the IP thing i should get new IP address?
whats benefits do you know?
