Some of the arguing in the Members Bar is totally distasteful, I've just read one of the most disturbing series of quotes. Something must be done - more mods? chat auto moderation? I don't know but that will hardly attract new members. :(

agreed, use contact us! hopefully they will be adding some mods to the team. i encourage people from different time zones to apply! the problem often arises because many mods are in the same time zone and are unaccesible at the same times.

yeah send complaint.
pool has a lot of mods from Australia who come online in the early hours while UK people come on during the day, on pool its not often you see a room without a moderator.

You obviously mis-understood me. I said hopefully I'll be a mod within the next month or two and I just said if I was a mod these people would be booted.

Problem is always going to be the same.... To many european people are the mods need American and aussies so different mods on all different times
10pm at night proberbly 3/4 mods online 2pm+ probebly 1 if any at all
When I was a mod I worked nights so was on all the time during the day but you just don't get this option now a day also reporting to a Admin doesnt do much I will repeat a sentance said to me and the answer
'Go and have s*x with your dead family'
Admins answer (after I send a complaint and repeatidly asked why he was not banned):
'There are different ways of punishing somebody other than banning'
Where you know if a mod was there at the time it would of being sorted it seems like the site has gone alittle bit soft and people tend to get away with alot more than what they used to.. but thats just my opinion
But on the bigger note, they do try their hardest and I will not take that away from them some more than others but they do work well as a team and to a certain level get a good job done
We need to remember they don't get paid and it's their leasure time aswell whilst playing so thankfully there are people who like to help out and give a direction of what can and can not happen.

I think there are truths to your post Si. When I was mod I was the only american but I was able to monitor the site when other mods were sleeping/working etc. I think you're absolutely right with requiring more mods from differing time zones to monitor the site.
On another note, I'm not sure if the site is "becoming too soft" with their moderator and/or banning, but I think the problem (a good problem actually!) is that the site is growing in popularity. This consequently means that the ratio of so-called "trouble makers" increases with the general population.
I think that as more quality applications come in, more mods can be promoted from varying areas. I also think that because of the recent increase in forum posts about moderating/applications, etc. there needs to be a bit of admin-to-mod conversations on what they are expecting and what level of severity should be expected when moderating. I think that mods also need to attempt different ways to handle this "trouble-makers". Often times I see mods playing into the argument, which is exactly what the young users want. The young people absolutely feed off of the attention. I think a more matter of fact approach may be better suited.
side note: maybesies don't post the exact thing the members said in the main chat as you've kind of posted curse words/unfriendly things on the forum where more poeple are viewing it...but i get your point

If I'm online and someone pm's me saying there is trouble in the members bar I will go over straight away. However in the 2 weeks or whatever ive been doing this I have only had 3 people telling me there is a problem. And yes I have been online a lot.
Also, there is a responsibility on the players in the bar to shout as soon as the problem starts. The police don't sit outside your house in case something happens, but if you call 999 they will be straight round.

agreed, mods are lovely as coming fast if you tell them someone is acting up! i've had a few of them do the same thing, or they will finish up their game and come in. our mods are always lovely, just think there needs to be a few more of them!

just a couple of US/AUS mods (theres a few i know on pool, melz, hothead_bob etc) to come online in the early hours, i see no problem during the day as usually a mod online.
