Was thinking that the the other day actaully, thought it was about and kept evading me but no, its vanished.

was replaced with carom as random only got 5 entries max.

That was because you needed to have played (at the time) minimum 50 games in each discipline...(ie not a newbie) and a high percentage of players did not qualify when the tournapoints thingy came in.

For example I had only ever played carom in the random tourney and had only accumulated 25 odd games so was ineligible.

had to play (endure)20 odd games to qualify

This was true of a lot of players and initially only a limited amount of players could enter.

Now the limit for newbies is 30 and I think it would get more entrants than carom.

maybe swap micro reg for random maybe?

but i still think my idea of none newbie in one type instead of all is a good one.

I agree with that totally ....micro reg only gets about 5 entrants....(although it does overlap the normal reg ) and this from someone who likes reg and dislikes carom!

Lets start a campaign to bring the Random touney back.

It looked 1 good tournament tonight!!!
I would play in this but i would have to play 7and a half hour of power snooker, which is just daunting. Also 9pm(uk) wud seem better as more ppl be on.

Only thing with adding a friendly version is that there isnt much incentive to play it.

No tournapoints, no rank points and the tournament itself is uncredited.

These are also various reasons why it only gets few entries...you dont win anything!

you cant please everyone all of the time....friendly gives those a chance to play who havent 'un newbied' carom or power...
