My dog is looking really bad

Think she is going to die

I'm hoping its 50-50 whether she does or not but I fear its not even that great of a chance.

She is having these choking fits and cannot move. I would take the option of giving her an injection because she looks so bad but nowhere is open for this sort of thing.

Going to stay up all night with her to get her through.

She is still alive thankfully but hasn't improved at all. She is still having extreme spasms and the only thing it could be (apparently) is epilepsy.

She just lays on her side, hasn't moved for 15 hours, she cant stand up, she foams at the mouth, she has a hicupping motion every 5 seconds which causes her to do the 'paddle' as if she is swimming. She has moments where she pulls her head towards her back and chokes. Three times I thought she it was her on her way out, its actually devastating.

Not quite sure why im posting this on snooker if im honest, not looking for sympathy or anything ...

But - If anyone has had a dog or known a dog that has had this or anything of this kind, maybe you can help me?

Its all a bit complicated.

We have our own vet, who has given my dog (Diva) her vaxinations etc, knows all about her and he is in Hawaii.

So there is no record of her on the vets something or rather, plus she is in really bad shape and my mother doesn't think there is any point in getting the vet as he will just put her down and my brother won't allow it to happen.

But once the diagnoises is given to give her the jab then you cant refuse her it. So its like, do we get an assassin around to kill her or show her some love and affection until she passes.

Its a really grim position to be in. I dont no what is right for her. Dont want to make the wrong decision.

But waiting for her to die isn't acceptable in my eyes. But dont want to lose her

Selfishness. I could let her go but my family cant.

Sorry to hear about your dog man, hope she is alright.

In other news... I can't get online due to my laptop being terribly awful and contracting the laptop equivalent of AIDS and is failing to work Java even after I re-install.

Didn't mean that to sound like your dog is not important.

Just thought I should let you all know I can't get online.

I have a dog which is nearly 3 now, and to be honest Derry I would take her to the vet. Even if they say they have to put her down, at least she will not have to suffer any more. It must me worse just watching her right now being like that. But if you take her it might not be as bad and they might be able to do something. I honestly think you should anyway.

I agree with Damien there mate, I know how you feel though stuck between a rock and a hard place. I would feel the same with my dog, had to see my cat put to sleep due to cancer at the age of 4 and my dog is like one of my best friends in life now so would hate for him not to be here.

Maybe it is just epilepsy as you said Derry maybe there is pills to help her, and make her better/get through the spasms.

My computer is working now all.

Thanks everyone.

At 4:12am September the 11th, Diva passed.

I was looking after her, went and made some food and a cup of tea, came back and she had gone.

I thought she was going to be okay in the end.

Had to be wrong didn't I

Sorry to hear Cuey..

lost my cat Ally at 19 years old .. four weeks ago. We had had her 18 and a half years from a kitten and her favourite time was to sit around on my shoulders like a parrot.....even playing funky

her sister Makalu(Lulu) died of cancer a couple of years ago as well ....

Thanks everyone.

Dug her a grave in the garden, the kids made a headstone type thing, put her toys in with her but sickeningly couldnt find her favourite toy, had to happen didnt it. Made it all really comfortable and made her grave all pretty. She even has a gold ring with her!

The day we got her I had bought my ex mrs a ring, not an engagment ring or anything, just a ring. The dog use to love the sparkle of rings etc and the ex lost the ring. Well the other day I found the ring under my wardrobe, haven't taken it off the whole time Diva was poorly for luck, but then after it all happened and we was putting her in I thought she could have it. Cute aren't I!

But thanks all

Sorry Killy
