I really think the post formatting needs some sorting out.
This thread comes after trying to share a PHP tutorial here, but finding that I couldn't due to the current formatting system.
I have a few points to make here.
1. Whenever posting a square bracket, it thinks that it's trying to implement BBCode. This probably isn't a problem that occurs for most people, as it's not often people need to use the square brackets unless using BBCode, however I think it would be good have a system that recognizes whether or not the text after the open bracket is BBCode, and if it isn't, to simply ignore it and display it as plain text, rather than throwing an error.
2. The character limitation is all wrong. I was making a fairly long post the other day, and even though it said I had 5 or so characters remaining, when trying to submit the post, I had to go back and remove 20 characters.
3. I suggest adding another BBCode for plain text. This would cross out the first point I made, and allow for myself & others to post code without getting errors.
4. Add a preview post button. I've suggested this before and nothing came of it, however I still think it needs to be added.
5. Increase the character limit. It runs out way to quickly.
6. Allow all basic keyboard symbols to be used. There are currently 3 that I found which are not allowed. These are the curly brackets, the long line (next to the "Z" key), and the upper dash next to the "1" key.

how about allowing to change its size, maybe an animation and colour change also
move - /move
size="1" - /size
color="blue or colour code" - /color

Yeh colour is something I'd like to see. I didn't add it because I ran out of characters.
Size, I don't think is a big issue to be honest. It can look very messy if not used properly.
I don't think Nick would add any animation. It would slow down page loading time quite a lot.
Colour definitely though!

I've thought about it, but I don't have the time or motivation to learn Java.
