yeah i feel the same way i personally think it was when ranked tournies came out, but in carom you still have it in a sense with players like adam, etarvt, gulliver (cant believe i said that ) and others. i think carom and possibly arcade are the only ones to still have some competitiveness.

and i was just posting how i felt about tournaments in general, i said it once and ill say it again, i have no problems with bomjaza or any tournaments he enters, thats up to him at end of the day and if he wins then congrats to him

I would say it's the fact that the sheer amount of tourneys is so much greater now. When I got here 2 years ago, it was a tournament ever hour or two I think. I know that it used to be much less than that.
People used to look forward to playing in a tournament and value it much more, since you'd have to wait 2 hours to get into another one. Now you just enter another that is bound to pop up within 5 minutes...

That's been tried several times- at some points people hadn't posted in 3 days. Somehow it keeps getting brought back up by people (person)...

Why shouldn't it... wish everyone would stop living in the past.

If you want this to be constructive try thinking how we can bring back the tournaments that attract the so called top players again.

Specially weekly Tournament with :-
Quadruple points
4 x ranking points
Name in lights for a week

I've only been on the site a few months so cant comment on how it was a few years ago... but I will say i'm sick of hearing about it, its doing the site no good dwelling on the past.

id love to see a massive tournament re-haul....otherwise im not really interested

What does the site good then? Cheap records that are hard to respect?
Why shouldn't people be allowed to say that they don't respect this record? That's no a reflection of bomjaza, since he's only playing the system.

Regarding your suggestions: The top players don't care about points or rank. Probably not the lights either lol.
The only way to get them involved is by decreasing the amount of tournaments, which won't happen anyway.
One tourney every 2-3 hours and you would see a lot more top players in there.

I do agree the edge has been taken away. Clans are the best thing on the site and the most competitive for me in my opinion (different story on pool, have my own targets over there )

But either way, it's an achievement, and if you don't like it, then tough.

Different players care about different things, personally I only care about having fun... after all its the only reason I play.

I agree the tournaments have little edge, frankly im surprised they ever had an edge. I guess it was the fact that they had just been introduced that sparked an interest from the masses. making a big thing about a tournament a week would get me interested and many others im sure.
