Not sure how I feel about this game- we needed a better score, but I didn't play poorly!
The first two frames were a bit like the Chelsea game- I got control and built the breaks nicely. Then I messed up in the 40's because I thought I was able to hit a certain red (I swear I could!) but found another ball in the way. He cleaned up without mistake for a 99.
Similar story in the second frame- I had control and got stuck behind a red when I tried to split the pack. He cleaned up again without mistake for an 84.
Third frame he did finally miss a shot and I was able to clear for 98.
Fourth frame was the only poor one- we both missed shots, but I missed last
Fifth and sixth frame I did what I couldn't do in the first two- clear the table when I had control. 126 and 117.

Well done to alex- flawless when cleaning up!

genuine question here.

played against sean who is one of the top original players at the moment, had a chance to pinch it but kept on missing too many easy balls (sean should have won 2-0 as he played 2 snookers but i played 2 decent escape shots). i tried too hard in this match which left me disappointed each time i missed, when i missed final red i actually looked at the floor with frustration and disappointment with myself as that was key shot to win.

how do i counter trying too hard against one of the top players?

just relax and play like you would in practice. dont think about winning or losing just take it 1 ball at a time.

yeah im always nervous against them, made 2 cents in practice last 2 days (one which was a max), in friendlies i can make about 70 or 80 breaks, just tournaments

I used to be like this dgen mate

But that was when i was serious about this game, and moaned when i lost every game lol.

Now a days in tournaments, i tend to just imagine every game is round 1 of a tournament, obviously when i get to the final, i step up, but every other round, i just relax and say to myself, if i lose i lose, another loss, learn from it, and come back another day.

I can see myself coming back into my prime now ive learnt and matured in game play

So yeah, my advice would be to simply relax, and make sure nothing is on your mind before hand

just leave the match if your playing me
