Forum notifications have been introduced. You will be told in game, and by email, if someone quotes you, or tags you (using the MEMBER tag), in a forum post.

Your email settings for forum notification have been set to the same value as your mail message notifications. There is also a new setting for both notifications - emails sent only when not informed online.

I hope this feature will encourage people to come back to debate, and be especially useful in organising clan matches, and other user created events.

Clicking on the post in this message, and in the find users by player should now take you to the correct post within the page.

Also a few fixes:
- prompt before removal of friends on web page
- editing your profile "about me" now has the smileys etc
- remember me fixed (shortly after expiry it incorrectly showed a remember me existed)

I have missed messages before whilst playing, so a good addition

hey nick nice work, some users dont check the forum while in clans so when they get tagged it sends them an offline message/email

also please look at my idea which can improve the messaging in game feature:

- Link Snooker and Pool Accounts (like Facebook) so when you get a message from one site it tells you whichever game server your on.

so for example your not logged in snooker but your logged into pool game server.

I forgot to mention you will not get an alert if quoted or tagged by someone on your ignore list.



You need to check it is enabled on your edit page ( http://www.funkysnooker.com/edit ). In addition you should check your bulk / spam message folder.



If you've got a smart phone you can make it alert you when you have an email, and funkysnooker will send an email.

when email forum notification isn't ticked does it still inform you in the game? reason i ask is because i rarely check my mail and when i do check weeks at a time i could have spammed messages (mostly from facebook for silly things), is it possible to make by offline message as well?

same, last time i sent an email was 2009 i think :L

emails are good for those who are inactive for active users offline messages are best (maybe do both options?).

Is there any risk of the in game messages causing cue twitchiness like receiving a new private message or will it not have any effect (like getting a tourny invite now)? There's just a risk of it being abused if it can put people off.
