I think I'd be happy with any of the semi-finalists winning. They all deserve it in their own ways.

Hope Carter wins about time he wins a big event and about time Ronnie loses in the final

I don't care who wins the final, both are great players and deserve the title. Hoping for a close one.

Don't like Ronnie, don't like Carter style of play. Said early on Ali would do well in the tournament though.

Ronnie will win comfortably I think though, unless Ali really does manager to tie him down and frustrate him.

Not a final many would have expected myself included. Loving that Ronnies in it though. Against anyone else i'd want Ali to win as well, deserves it
I think the score will closer than 2008 but still think Ronnie(hoping) will win by a few frames. Hoping for late night finish

I can't see Ali winning if he adapts the tactics he used against Maguire. If Ronnie brings his best out for the final Ali simply won't win. Ronnie is too good for anyone in the world on his day.

Still mesmerised how you don't like Ronnie. Fascinating to watch at times with his uniquely fast and fluent way of playing. I appreciate he hasn't been the most dedicated but talent is talent as far as I'm concerned and you can't win the world champs and not deserve it.

I don't think that many people dislike the way he plays snooker. I imagine it's a bit like Ronaldo- he's absolutely brilliant, but has a bit of an attitude problem every now and then

He's been working hard on his temperament though, with psychologists and everything else you can think of. He seems a lot better this year, but I guess people judge him on his past not his present.

yup, read on snooker that hes considering retirement again (for few years) due to the new schedule which is fair enough as he has a family to think of as well.

Just wondering, does the final finish tonight and go late into the night like other tournaments or is it played over two days?

I don't think it's been a great final so far tbh. Ronnie looked awesome just before the end of the first session.

I think it's funny that Carter made a big song and dance about Trump not apologising for a fluke and saying it was etiquette to apologise yet 3 times yesterday I saw Carter fluke shots and didnt say a word. At least not that I saw.

I also thought his interview with John Parrot was disrespectful to Ronnie. "Ronnie probably thinks he can show up and beat me, we'll see". Two minutes later Ronnie's interview is shown and he talks about what a great player Ali is.

Ebdon's interview was hilarious though, talking about the easy red Ali missed. "that was a really difficult shot".

Cant see Ronnie losing really. As long as Ali keeps turning down pots, Ronnie will take enough chances to win about 19-14.

I said the other day Ali would never win if he continues the tactics he used against Maguire. Seems whenever he is left with a reasonable shot to nothing he just passes it over to Ronnie and he makes a decent break from it. He's going to have to risk a lot to gain a lot now.
