I was thinking earlier it would be a good addition, for in-game chat for there to be a button that says "add player to chat" so you can talk to more people at one specific time, I would like to see what other people think :)

thanks, I don't think it would be too difficult to implement either ;)

been said b4 as well as other good idea's, pretty pointless tho cause they never get taken into consideration or even get recognition

Great idea but a nightmare to implement. Consider the following:
1. What happens if a player is added who has an existing member on ignore? Or if an existing player has the added player on ignore?
2. If someone is abusive, how does send complaint work? Do you have a drop down list of people and you select one, then send complaint?
3. If "invite to play" or "invite to watch" are pressed, who gets invited? Everyone?
4. Can a second chat be opened with someone else in that group chat?
5. If "add to friends" is clicked, who gets added? Everyone?
6. How do you prevent people using it to spam people by continually adding them? If someone leaves is there a cooldown period before they can be invited back?
7. If "play" is clicked, who gets invited to play? Just one person or everyone?
What would thus be necessary is a completely different interface, which the box would have to change to instantly when the third person joined. I expect this would slow things down quite a lot.

@Adam
All of those points are easy to address. The actual implementation is very easy, all that's required is a smart interface that would allow members to easily use the feature.
How about this, the current chat has the options for inviting to a game, sending a complaint, etc.. But at the moment, those buttons are part of the window. How about having the conversation to the right, the names of people in the chat to the left, and if someone needs to invite someone to a game, or send a complaint or whatever, then they right click on the members name, and a menu appears with those options.. That would not only address most of your points, but would also make the GUI look a lot nicer and more current than it does at the minute.

Here's a mock up of what it could look like:
Although I couldn't quite figure out where to put the invite member box lol.

That was the only solution I could think of, I posted something similar on the last thread about this. You havnt suggested a solution to the first point or the one about spam though .

Craig, have you never seen the difference between the "play" button and the "invite to play" button? When implementing a new idea, every existing function has to be taken into consideration...

have a button in Options.
Do you wish for Chat Invites? Tick you get them, Unticked you don't (similar to ignore pms)
i wouldn't mind different types of ignore to be honest.
Ignore Pm from this person
Ignore Chat from this person
Ignore Invites from this person (tournament invites is mandatory)
Ignore Forum Posts from this person (meaning you can't see their post)
Ignore Offline Messages from this person
Ignore All from this person
i know loads of Ignore Options but could want to ignore them for different reasons

The first point wouldn't really matter. If a player has another player on ignore then that would apply in a group chat just as it would anywhere else. As for the spamming, a cool down period would definitely be needed.
It'll work just like the invite system for tournaments, so you invite a member to join your group chat, they can then choose whether or not to accept or decline. If they decline, then the person who originally invited would need to wait a certain amount of time before being able to send another invite to the same member.
As I said before, it would be easy to implement so long as Nick can come up with a nice interface. It should definitely be added, I think it's one of the better suggestions I've read on here for a while now.

Still doesnt solve the ignore problem! Doesn't have to be the person on ignore who invites you!
Jack, you mean that anything that person said wouldn't show up in your chat? That's possible but could make send complaint a bit iffy.

Lets say I have you on ignore. I'm in a chat with Dgen, and he invites you into the chat. Everything you type, wouldn't show up for me because I have you on ignore.

The chat would still be logged in the background, I just wouldn't be able to see it.

the button in options does though, if you don't want inviting to chat just tick option but like i said people may want to ignore for different reasons, e.g. spectators in clan games you would tick Ignore pm and chat so you can concentrate, others you may want to avoid arguments so would tick forum option etc.

As in my edit above, would make send complaint a bit tricky as someone could reply to an unseen message and it be hugely out of context.

How could someone reply to an unseen message?? Sorry I'm not with you lol. Could you use an example situation.
