Hey guys, i am currently enjoying the straight ladder event clooneman is running over on pool, and since there is a lack of carom events on here, i am going to start this in roughly the same format
i need an even number between 6 and 12 players who have played at least 20 frames this season in the clan league to sart this off (need regular players as it is a continuous event)
basically the first week's games will be random, and then the event will work on a ladder system....................here goes trying to explain it :P
Each player will be picked a random level to start on, if we start with 8 players then there will be levels 1 to 5, 1 player will be on level 1, 2 players will be on levels 2 to 4 and 1 wil be on level 5
the first fixture will look like this
Table 1: (1) kiwi v orange (2)
Table 2: (2) pear v banana (3)
Table 3: (3) grape v pineapple (4)
Table 4: (4) blueberry v melon (5)
so the ladder will start like this:
Level 1 - Kiwi
Level 2 - Orange, Pear
Level 3 - Banana, Grape
Level 4 - Pineapple, Blueberry
Level 5 - Melon
All matches will consist of 3 frames of carom, and the points gained in all frames will be the final score, not frames won.
The promotion and relegation system will be explained in the next post.................

work following this example:
Table 2: (2) pear v banana (3)
If pear beats banana, then because pear is on a higher level than banana, pear will remain at level 2 and banana will remain at level 3, but because pear won pear will be promoted to table 1 while banana will be dropped to table 3
If banana beats pear, then because banana is a lower level then pear, banana will get promoted a level to level 2 while pear will be relegated to level 3
To sum this up, the winner of each match play next game on the higher table, the loser plays next game on the lower table
If a player beats a player on a higher level, they get promoted, and the loser gets relegated, if the winner is on a higher level, then the winner and loser's levels will remain the same
I hope you all understand this, it sounds complicated but it isnt when you get the hang of it, feel free to ask quastions, and of course join!
the matches will be played every week which is why i need regulars

Sound interesting as long as I don't have to work out what happens to places in the ladder after every match!! :-S Count me in please!

no thanks but an idea could sort 1st round out by the max rank (if people reset previous max rank doesn't count but current does).

ok thanks, but just a reminder, you win by getting most points over the 3 frames instead of winning the most frames ok ;)
