Well, sometimes it's interesting to know whether people just leave mid-game or not! Many prefer playing against players who stay and see the game out, rather than leave mid-game.

It's more filling in the remaining percentage of games..played/unplayed..(abandoned) image if you had 5% abandoned, and 75% win success at a certain game type, BOOM had you not abandoned 5% then you could have 80% winning. It is necessary, otherwise Nick would have to re-write the whole way game loss ratio works.. without abandoning games counting towards total percentage. That wouldn't happen IMO
