I haven't seen the rankings in a while, but I doubt there are enough tournaments left to take #1 this season

Nadal will be back number one by the end of next season. Given he got pretty much no points from Wimbledon and the US this season, all he would need is to reach the semis and he would shoot back up the rankings because of how they work.
