I think it was Cisse not Ba but IMO the ref was right to overrule it.
As a defender you get into a position to block the attackers out anyway, whether they are there or not, so Evans may not have even known the ball was going to Cisse behind him.
Cisse wasn't in Evans' way or in the keepers way so until the ball reached him I think he was out of play and not interfering. So in my opinion and obviously the referees opinion, Cisse wasn't interfering in play and if not then the goal should stand.
Did anyone see the Man Utd vs. Newcastle game on MOTD last night?
What did you think of the decision to give the Johnny Evans own goal?!
Can't believe the ref overruled it - Demba Ba was in an offside position when the ball was played, by being in that position, he forced Johnny Evans into acting, which means he was interfering with play, therefore offside!
Why Mike Dean overrule it, I don't know, the lino has got that spot on IMO

Agree with all of that, I was surprised nobody else noticed the initial pull of the shirt was outside the box because that was what I was thinking.
No Liverpool Fans Posting???
Well here goes lol
We played great, stuck to our Strengths which is one of the best defences in Europe every Liverpool fan must of been worried at 2-1 knowing the lack of goal we concede and lack of goal you score.
Liverpool had some great chances just didn't have that finish... Walters 2nd goal was really good taken down beautifully and placed into the net also Jones's header should of been defended but you put somebody of his caliber infront of that he will produce.
The Penatly.... The first pull of shirt was outside the area so should not of been given but it was and we still stood strong and played like a great team.
Great Atmosphere but Coins and bottles of pop thrown were pathetic by the Scouse no need for that.. Also the Flares really necessary?
Overall extatic with 3 points today, also thanks to the bookies for making us 3/1 when will they learn lol
9 games undefeated in the Prem
and something like 17 at home may it continue!

After reading Mich's post I completly agree, you need change your style don't do a Stoke as it's not the most effective! We play a defensive strategy now basically if we go 1-0 up we are relying on our defence to keep it that way and so far for us it's working in our favour.
Our only problem is usually when we go 1-0 down we don't pressure like we did yesterday Rogers said yesterday all 3 goals bad defending I will compleyly agree with him. The walters 2nd finish was really nice to watch though. Jones a free man front post where was the front post defender they should be standing their ground incase the ball gets there.
Extremly happy with the result though obviously Liverpool need get back into the drawing room and make a new plan because only the other day I was saying maybe they might get back to top 4 level then look what happened yesterday.
Sterling/Sahim/Suarez (Hate him but he is awesome) Gerrard Reina Downing (At times) Johnson who out paced Ettherington every run down the line our fastest vs yours and you came off. Players there have all got class so why can't you get the results your used to?

Not sure for me, I really believe that Johnny Evans knew where Cisse was, and if he didn't react, it would go to him - You can tell Evans knew he was there because he's got arms on him, to keep in contact with him!
So therefore, Cisse was in an offside position when the ball was played, and he interfered with play, by causing Johnny Evans to react to try and cut it out.

We pay millions on a loan deal for Sahin to play him in Capital one Cup and Europa League, games Rodgers obviously sees as not too important. Gerrard needs to be dropped for a bit though, and we need to stop letting Allen go forward, he gets near the opponents box and then gets scared and tries to go backwards.
Can't blame much on Suarez if he isn't getting much service, but Downing when one of our defenders goes past him for the ball instead of overlapping and throwing a cross in he seems to drop back into the LB/RB position rather than trying to attack, frustrates me.
For me Henderson isn't getting much of a chance either, if the big boys aren't performing well the manager shouldn't be scared to drop them. Sterling only played like 20 mins vs fulham so why he was on the bench last night is ridiculous should have started.
Just think Rodgers, a lot like Hodgson was is in too deep, done well with a club with smaller expectations, where mid table finishing was acceptable. For some reason though our fans have took well to him, they say it will take 2 or 3 seasons to turn the team around, but can we afford that 2 or 3 seasons? In which time we will more than likely lose Gerrard through retirement, and if things don't pick up Agger, Squirtle, Suarez, Sterling will all be going. If rumours are to be believed Coates is on his way, Downing will be if we get 9m so we have no one left.
Needs sorting and quick.

See Daniel Sturridge I hear is as good as done in the Market, but Suarez and Sturridge? Sturridge wants to be a lone striker so could they go 4-4-2 would both be happy with that, both are greedy (Which is everything you want from a good striker) See I ain't 100% sure but would Suarez be happy droping behind him playing the Rooney position and let Sturridge take up a Van Persie role, is it to much for somebody who lacks some experiance.
All of these things need to be addressed, also Rogers needs to keep everybody together don't sell buy in so you've got options. United against Reading subs of Giggs and Scholes old but amazing impact players, Liverpool need something they can fall back on in when times are getting rough.
The subsitutions Rogers made yesterday when they come on as a Stoke fan you were like 'Yeah not to much worry about' but when Chelsea bring on Torres, Man City bring on Tevez/Djeko/Silva and United get Hernandez you think OMG please don't come close to goal but it goes back to the old thing the fear factor, I think teams are just scared to play against these teams like Liverpool at one point they just lost the fear of everybody else.
Plenty of money and get Bentiez back lol

Think if he sticks to the same formation we play now, with Sturridge in the Suarez positionn and Suarez and Sterling on the wings dropping Suso and Downing, then it would give us a more deadly attack.
But for me it's the midfield lacking creativity which is our main worry. Allen isn't a creative player, more a possession and easy pass player, which is good if the other 10 players are the same. Gerrard, Sahin, Suarez, Downing, Agger Johnson for example though are not they like to have a run or try a long ball so trying to play one style to accomodate 1 player while making 5 or 6 others uncomfortable which is what they look like at times, is just stupid.

Can't see the reasoning behind dropping our main striker into midfield - if it wasn't for him this year so far, we would be in even deeper *bleep* than we already are.
What we need is someone to play off him - Sturridge is a winger, always has been, always will be IMO
And yes I agree we need to have an impact sub, we have no one currently who can come on and change the game for us

Worked well when Suarez played left wing for Ajax... just thinking maybe he could work wonders for us there too.

See Sturridge is a winger but that's why he is leaving Chelsea, As Dwight York said he started on the wing he also reemed of 4/5 strikers that all started on the wing and he said it's all experiance.
Which I think I agree with do you want a inexperianced player been the man up front the man in charge, I am not saying he's not capable but Suarez is a lethal man upfront he's so deadly he produces so much skill (He let's himself down) he can be amazing but when he does silly things he ruins his own name his own ability.
And Mich your obsolutly correct, you need to make the team work for the majority not minority... Messi is the best player at Barca they play a team game they don't just say pass to Messi they all chip in but the game they play accomedates the whole team, looking around all 'big' teams maybe that is Liverpools downfall right now yesterday some of their passing was shocking, looking at each other to say 'Where were you' just no team chemistry or connection.

I think Sturridge, just like Walcott needs the time up front to learn within himself and for others to see his natural position. He was there at Bolton and scored 8 in 11 games. Of course he wasnt getting there with Chelsea, Torres, Drogba and co are all obviously gonna keep him out.
Think having someone with Suarez's quality on the wing to support him and characters like Gerrard and Lucas behind him in midfield could really help develop him.
At the end of the day we got nothing to lose trying it really, at the minute we are a very average mid table team.

So Ba's medical at Chelsea tomorrow but good news for Newcastle fans is, for just £3, NUFC have agreed to add 'stard' on to the end of your 'Ba' shirt!

Wesley Sneijder would consider moving to a top Premier League club but is "absolutely not interested" in joining QPR, says his agent Soren Lerby.

Since no one else has done it yet suppose I will start it, lets see where it goes...
What did everyone think of the Suarez goal yesterday? I personally thought there was no attempt to move his hand out the way but don't think he moved his hand towards the ball, could have went either way but was ultimately down to the officials who ruled it unintentional. However for the idiots saying he should own up to it to the ref, let me point out that Henry, Messi and Maradonna didn't own up when scoring purposely wit their hands, does this make them lowlife scum too?
Those who say he only kissed his hand because he handballed it have never seen Suarez celebrate before either, would it be the same criticism if say Rooney, RVP, Ba, Cazorla, Podolski or anyone else done it? Probably not, but that's my opinion.
Anyway onto the game itself, we played well for like 20 minutes and a great finish by Sturridge on his debut, let's hope he carries the scoring on in future. Mansfield played well and should feel hard done by not getting a replay at least, but credit to their manager in his post match interview when he could have blamed it all on Suarez's handball and he said he thought it was accidental and if it went their teams way he would have accepted it so will do this way.
Do you think the media are trying to unsettle Suarez before the United game?
Or just to get him out of British football?

I've stopped caring about suarez, he's getting silly. I don't really have time for players like that, it's pointless and it wrecks the game. I don't know whether it was intentional or not, an apology would be nice though, gotta feel sorry for mansfield, so close to getting a replay!
Arsenal played thoroughly average yesterday, pleased to get replay

18:04 Mon 7 Jan 13 (GMT) [Link] I agreed with everything you said until this. That makes it sound as though there is a huge conspiracy going on against Liverpool and for United.
But yeah, if it was any other player (except for Barton maybe lol) then this wouldn't be much of an issue. Oh well, he deserves all he gets

It looked clear handball to me but no player is going admit to it if the goal is given, ba scored with his hand against reading this season but nothing was really said about it, but cause it's Suarez it will be all over the papers.
I don't like the guy cause of his constant diving but always rated him as a top player, most on here used to say how poor he was cause he wasn't scoring, but now he's proving he is up there with the best, was only a matter of time tho really, showed he could score goals with his record at Ajax
