There are certain areas of my game that needs improving, And a idea popped into my head of maybe having a new thing where we can place the balls wherever we want in practise ?

This would be great because i could put the balls where i need to practise from.

May not be the best idea but it seems easy to add.

Has been suggested Cam hasn't it?

Its a good idea and would defo improve my game i reckon.

The only problem we now have is it won't get looked at just like any other ideas/suggestions on the forum that has came up in the past.

Instead of making this actual site better the owners seem to stray away from it and make poor apps based on this game which in my opinion are crap.

I agree Adam, i have played both apps and they are way below any expectations i had... Lets be honest, Nick is probably just sitting there making more and more money of the 2 sites and not caring about the people that pay for his luxuries... Pointless asking for improvements as we have seen in the past, they will never happen.

The only way something will be added to the game is if another type of snooker pops up like power snooker did! I suppose we can all live in hope though eh?

James, both practice and practise are words in English. Practice is the noun, practise is the verb. As in:

I need more practice.

I'm going to practise arcade today.

The easy way to remember it is... practice ends in 'ice' which is a noun, practise contains 'is' which is a verb.

I feel your pain James For ages I've been wishing like many to have a 'voice' on Funky when it comes to upgrades. It's nice having no adverts and to select a cue, but for £9.99, I'd like more and I urge Nick to make members more a part of this site, ask us for ideas, let us vote from a list of suggested improvements etc... produce a timeline of changes, so we know what's coming rather than the system coming to it's knees at times, when changes are made out of the blue.... make us feel wanted Nick.

A few badly designed cues and an extra inch or so of space is NOT worth £10. I completely agree Ian, something needs to be done to 'freshen' up this game, for a start the clocks could be reset as tournaments start 3 minutes early and forum posts say 'posted 3 minutes ago' after immediately being posted.

Can i just say, the timeline idea is one of the best i have seen/read. We need a new practice or game type to keep us hooked.

Funky needs a new stimulus... the numbers have dwindled so much since I first joined a few years back... 60 in a tournament... I do miss them 3 hour marathon tourns. I have great admiration for what Nick has/is doing with both Snooker and Pool, but the sites can only run themselves for so long... with the help of the voluntary staff of course, who do a great job in return for... well.. sod all basically. So, has Funky gone as far as it possibly can? Does Nick have some surprises up his sleeves? Whatever the answers, we seriously need some new buzz around here to get Funky moving again.

I'll second the 60 man tournies, they were amazing, no matter how many 800's were in it, you could never pick a winner whereas now, you get 15-20 entering with someone like sean entering and winning every time, which is as expected coz he is a cut above the rest.

Something like Snooker plus, which dgen has mentioned for years, or even a new killer game on the orig or reg tables would be a great addition... It is really boring now and too 'samey' something really does need to be done

The problem we have is not just the fact the game needs spicing up. Its the fact the legends of the game no longer play.

And i can tell you for a fact.. A new game or anything will not bring them back.. They have moved on and barely even log in to see whats new..

The game needs something.. Even something small.. The Carom practise thing was great

For Caromers

But we need something, Doubles ? Six reds ?

ANYTHING

PLEASE

I think a novelty game like reduced reds would be initially popular then fade. If you look on pool then the arcade games are not as popular as the original games, and on here power snooker is not as popular as the original 3.

From what I can see, the reason existing members lose interest and go is that they have done everything and there is nothing left that's a challenge. For guys like Destiny, hitting a 107 is just routine, there is nothing really that really makes you want to try other than seeing how many you can hit in 24 hours.

Personally I think a harder game type would kick interest back in, something that would take even the best players like Seb, Damien etc a bit of time to master. Arcade does it's purpose well in attracting new players with a short game time and it's easy to play, but I feel the issue is keeping those players. Giving people something to strive towards is a big incentive.

I'm sure I've said it before but some sort of unlocking system would work well but I don't know how it could be implemented. By that I mean say giving people only arcade to start with, then if they hit a half they unlock reg or something like that. That would also mean that by the time people got to orig, they would probably be reasonable players so would have a chance of being able to play it, whereas now if a new player goes straight into orig they are generally unable to compete at it as it's tough to get used to then just give up on it.
