i was playing taylor1 in the micro arc final....he was on 43 points and i was on 30 yeah........he was on black ball and completely missed the black ball!......that should have put me onto 37 and given me chance to pot black ball and win 44-43.....but the game just ended!???

that would never happen in a real game!

yeah but if he missed the black then it should have gone to 37-43 and given me a chance to pot the black.......

if ronnie was playin higgins and that happended do you think ronnie would take that as a lost frame?

it was his shot on black and he missed so was enough points left on table to win it

this is an official rule even in the real circus. with playing on last black there is only one scoring possible. if it is a foul it is also a scoring and frame is finished

check page 18!

It means don't shorten the words like you would in a text message.

To answer your original question- the official rules of snooker (real snooker) say that the game ends on the first foul on the black.

Just normal words so everybody can understand what you are trying to say.

It's an understandable query, and to be honest I consider it a bit of a loophole. It seems odd that the rules make no allowance for what at all other times would be considered a miss or "professional foul".

It probably exists in real snooker because people would waste a ridiculous amount of time attempting to leave the cue ball in the jaw to get the required snooker. Since it's relatively easy to leave a ball unpottable (even when not snookered) in real snooker, the rule saves a lot of time.

From the sounds of it, it was deliberate by taylor1. how exactly did he miss? Coz I pot the white all the time when I get down to the black and I'm more than 7 points ahead. it saves time rather than trying to finish, then if I happen to miss, I have to rely on my opponent not being an idiot and taking his time trying to pot it himself, and then potentially missing himself... it saves time.

he just tried to pot it but missed....it was 43-30 to him n he was on black ball but missed it completely, so that logically should mean that i get 7points, putting me onto 37 and a chance to pot black which if i did would put me on 44 and would win....i didnt need a snooker because he missed the black ball and fouled...leaving me enough points to win

if hes have hit the black ball i would of needed a snooker so could understand the game ending but seen as he missed it then it should have been a foul, awarded me 7points and left me with enough points on the table to win

Well, these are the official rules of real snooker. That's why they're here. Don't know how else to explain it.
