Why is the marathon arcade tournament best of 1 in first round?

Surely marathon tournaments should at least start with best of 3.

Its not the same as pool though and takes longer to play a frame most of the time. I would have to agree on the best of three though especially as it is arcade.

Must remember, the arcade tourn can attract a lot of people... personally, I'd rather ot stay as a Marathon tourn rather than an Epic Marathon tourn as if from the 1st round you had to start playing best of 3.... would just take way too long... at times, it takes an age as it is
