Gonna see if we can pull off a Big Tournament like m_wood did for Christmas time so it's not too close to the one just finished..

Setting it up now just so every member will see it and it gives us about 8 weeks to prepare and practice to be as good as lethal_lure (winner of the once in a lifetime tournament)

I think it's a good idea and if anyone wants to help out they can.

I was thinking of having it on Friday 20th of December at 7pm as most people will be on holidays from school/college and some people will be on Christmas holidays from work.

Think the sunday would be better. 22nd.. alot of people go out on the last weekend before Christmas. me been one of them..

noone will have anything to do on the monday either as its 2 days till Christmas. so sunday night gets my vote

Friday at 7 Dave it'll be over by 9 still plenty of time to go out wanna try Friday see if it gets as much as Sunday did. I Picked that day and time so we can go out Friday Saturday and Sunday Arcade will get the most players reg wont get as many.

why don't you do a massive random tournament , then nobody can complain about arc , reg , etc

One reason the last big tournament worked so well, was that it was arcade, and people didn't have to wait too long.

The downside of this being a random, is that you just need one power match out of maybe 50 others, which will make a lot of people wait for ages, and possibly lose interest.

There were several comments after m_woods tourney regarding the amount of frames for the semi / final. Again if power came up, on a race to say 3, and the other semi was carom ....

The alternative, of course, would be to try to arrange a big tournament in one of the other disciplines, to see how much interest there is.

Perhap you could scrap power just for the tourny?

Ya is it possible to have a random tournament without power, that will suit everyone but I would like the final to be arcade ;)

maybe do a major tournament once every 4 weeks at 9 pm. Double Rank and Double Tournapoints perhaps?

yes,and thats the way it should have stayed in my opinion,normal games took on more meaning then, than they do now,there are only a handful of arcade players who are consistant enough to keep winning tournaments and thats why the top ten in arcade hardly ever changes now,5 or six years ago the top 10 used to change almost every day,it was far more interesting then,than it is now,if a players has a bit of bad luck in just one tourny frame and loses double points,he may have to play 6 or 7 normal games just to gain them back,so its a lot harder and longer for him to progress up the rankings,like everything else if a player cant see hes progressing ,he will eventually lose interest.

Loads of companies will be having christmas parties that weekend..doubt you would get as many entrants

I wouldnt mind double tournapoints and ranking points like its only a once off every 4 weeks can make the points lost back in no time what u guys think ??
