Over the past couple of days banana has been deleted from the system after not logging in for 13 months...

and now magical_cue is the next in line to be removed this month if he does not log in... magical cue whom is the highest reaching rank in arcade at 985.0

It seems such a shame that these great feats achieved by players get erased due to them not logging in... they should be somehow immune/immortalized

Absolutely- banana has had previous great stats with other names, but magical_cue's arc stat on the all-time table would be a shame to lose.
No idea why there is automatic deletion in place anyway. Not enough memory on the server lol??

I can see where your coming from but surely its not hard to log in once in a year ? come on. these guys choose not to play.

Banana got deleted in the last 30 mins as he was on this when i looked about 11pm

Again i see your point but if i decided to just pack it in id definately log in once in the year to keep them stats. maybe they just dont care about it, im sure they realise they have to sign in, but if its generally a case of them forgetting then i feel for them.

So that people can use that name, should they wish to..And what's the actual point in even having an account on the system if people aren't even going to log in? Seems a bit pointless to moan that they get deleted, when if they don't log in for 13 months, surely they don't care if their account gets deleted...So why should you.

Frankly it is far harder to achieve a high rank compared with a couple of years ago ..before ranking tournaments, just look at the top ranks on original for example.

If they have gone then let there stats go with them , give new players a chance to gain a bit of fame as eventually those stats might be achievable again... realistically.

Fame is only fleeting for most , whether real or on an online game and those that occasionally log on once every 3-4 months to not lose their stats mostly only do it for their ego anyway.

Most who have left had a bit of fun and have moved on and could not care less now.

Exactly right kilimanjaro, these guys are the past of the game, in my opinion that is where people go wrong on here, relying on these older players to make the game good again is the wrong way to go about it.

End of the day so what if there stats go ? we all know how good they were, opens plenty of doors for new achievements to be done.

Let's not call it all-time stats then. Call it the last year stats...

The best achievements ever on here should be recorded, not wiped out. Who wants to be at the top of an all-time table, that you know is completely false.

True although many people deactivate and reset so ranking system is not realistic anyway but in my view the people who deactivate should be the ones to go not inactive players as that account should be unique to the player until they choose to deactivate it.

Regarding all time stats perhaps a shadow of lost accounts however for example Curt who made heart_beat was the account of another well known player so unless that account is saved by admin as retired then ranking will always be inaccurate

A 985 arc rank isn't inaccurate!

Rules are rules and if they are deleted after a year, so be it... although I think there should be a page to remember these great stars/stats of the game, even though the user has been deleted, would be a shame to lose some of the games history.

this is similar to an arguement that takes place all the time, and DOES MY HEAD IN! when united fans say liverpool have never won the premier league, or swansea fans say they were the first welsh team in the premier league, NOT CORRECT!!!!! just because of a name change they think its different. Same here i think, you need all time history and acheivements kept and dont lose them otherwise you will have fake records and untrue leaderboards. dont delete the account that have any sort of acheivements on them, when magical cue is gone, the highest arcade rank will be scotty, which no offence but that isnt true. it shouldnt happen

To the best of my knowledge the highest ever arcade rank was Scrapper, think he hit 990. I'll ask him on facebook.

Not sure if this could work, But maybe when a account gets deleted, it gets deleted but possibly have a page with all time achievements so it could be a link linking you to banana or magical cue's former stats, they just couldnt use them again.

well, somebody needs to make the page then asap lol...
