Hull coach Peter Sharp has left the club by mutual consent.

The club have confirmed the 53-year-old Australian will leave with immediate effect and that assistant Richard Agar will take temporary charge.

Hull FC lost 34-26 at Harlequins on Sunday to leave them lying next to bottom of the Super League.

The announcement comes less than two weeks before the club's Carnegie Challenge Cup quarter-final with Bradford Bulls.

Hull chief executive James Rule said: "On behalf of the board of directors, staff and players at Hull FC I would like to thank Peter for his contribution to the club and wish him the best of luck in his future career."

Agar will take charge of the team for Sunday's home match against St Helens and it is his second spell in temporary control. Thoughts?

Just wish we would sack cullen or at least move him upstairs allthough he seems to have a job lined up with sky the amount of times he is on

Warrington 28 - 36 Cas

What a thriller - Cas played some good stuff all game and were harshly done by the ref in some stages of that game and then the last 12mins they were simply awesome.

It was 28-14 to Warrington with 68mins gone and the last 12mins Cas came back and scored 4 quality tries!

Amazing stuff! Well done Cas, Cullen's last game?

This was the perfect game for warrington, Castleford at home its the easiest fixture of the season and we come up with that.

Cullen has got to go, rumour has it he has told the players he is to resign. I appreciate what Cullen has done for us over his 6 years in charge but at the end of the day that just now was disgraceful, and Cullen has to take responsibility.

There was something in the air at the HJ tonight and it exploded into that. We are disgusted with the players effort and most of the dead wood that are not fit to wear the primrose and blue shirts, rahihihi, king, monaghan, briers to name a few are all either past it or underachieving grossly, and it is simply not on. Its a shame, Cullen is a wire born and bred but maybe he is to understanding of bad performances.

Well most fans stayed behind an hour after the final whistle to call for cullens head either way it is disapointing. As i said there was something in the air at halliwell jones last night, and all round the town we had all been muttering our disaproval. Put 7000 of them in a stadium at once and then that happens. Matt King got some dreadful stick from us south standers and he deserves it, hes admitted to not playing well and needing time to settle in but should the so called best centre need that amont of time??

Anyhow cullen has gone via mutual consent, it is a shame i'd have loved him to lead us to siverware but it hasn't materialised, the players he has bought are in my view to big for him to handle, leading to poor discipline on and off the field. Only problem now is finding a replacement for him.
