Why is it that kaison and virtuoso107 dont seem to be having a daily deduction taken from there ranking? i cant find a rule which qualifies this. Surely whats good for the goose is good for the gander, i see my rank go down every day while theirs remains a constant, could someone please explain. I have had a bit to drink so please forgive me if there is a reasonable explanation for this..

I believe that if your online as it strikes midnight you don't get any deduction, as for if your off line you do, it need fixing in my view anyway.

Maybe cus I've improved my rank ?
Nah Ste is right if your online over midnight your stats remain the same I think this is because of different peoples time zones.

almost right-
if your online and playing a game in a particular discipline at midnight you still lose the daily reduction; but if you win the frame you started playin before midnight then your points change is calculated from before midnight, so you get the points for your win and you get your daily reduction points back.
Thats my experience anyway.
But over on pool there was/is a glitch that meant some people didnt get the daily rank reduction for no reason at all- if you think someones rank isnt being reduced and they aren't online at midnight playin a frame use the contact us button
Edit: after checking both players results it seems neither was playin at midnight so id use contact us to inform admin of the glitch if it bothers you

Hi
I've been watching this for a while now and kaison went a week or so without playin a ranking game and i very much doubt virtuoso107 has started a game before midnight every night in the past fortnight it just seems these 2 individuals dont have points docked. This is not a go at the formentioned individuals but this needs addressing because when you get high in the ranks points are hard to come by.
I'm sure admin are reading the forums so a reply should be posted when they work it out.
Oh can i have all the points i've been deducted back please

Lol yeah I know what you mean and i have had points deducted over the last fortnight but i won them back.
However the last couple of nights I have been online over midnight so I think thats why it hasn't gone down definately something to be looked into along with the highest today bug (highest break staying on also).
As for being worked out tho it will be tough with the fact that people from all sorts of different countries play funkysnooker with different time zones as i mentioned before, for example here in the UK midnight passes and I get deducted the 1 point as standard however a player living in the US is happily playin at 6pm and is deducted 1 point for no reason ?
So if you have any suggestion to counter that effect do give your ideas.

Trust me ralph- if it bothers you use contact us and inform admin of the problem- its a glitch that sometimes happens and if no-one informs them they cant do anything about it-
Mike- it doesnt matter whether your on at midnight or not you should have the reduction unless you are playing a game at the time (which is probably a loophole that should be closed also).
As for the the time zone thing- the site is based in the UK so everything is done in GMT- the tournys, achievments on your profile, forum posts etc etc.
The deduction quite rightly occurs at midnight GMT so it isnt like they have the points dedcuted twice

there rank has to be deducted because if they get thier rank up to the top of the game and they can just leave it so they will stay there so it encourages more playing even when your the best on the game

5) Daily reduction: a small amount is reduced from the top player's ranking.
To prevent player's simply retiring when they are top of the rankings a small amount is chopped of their ranking daily.
The rule is a 1 point drop for any user with a ranking over 925.0, a 0.75 point drop for any user with a ranking over 900.0, a 0.50 point drop for any user with a ranking over 850.0 and a 0.25 drop for users with a ranking over 800.0.
Thats from the help section. So that shows that the lowest it reduces to is 800, which explains your statement

I was paying someone a while ago in the middle of the day and they won and got to 915.6 and then they left the room, found there was no-one else to play and come back... and when they come back they had lost some rank about the 0.6
