I think the points reuction should happen 24 hours since a players last finished ranking game and a further reduction every subsequent 24 hours. That would be the fairest way to work it out, what with
the different time zones people are playing in etc..

its alrite sayin that they deduct points so that the same people arnt at the top all the time...
but the same people r at the top all the time anyway so doesnt matter...

u should lose ur ranking ur self by losing games not daily deductions

Nick is the only one who could fix this.

You have to be patient, in that sometimes the solutions to problems aren't always immediately obvious.

We don't want this bug in place anymore than you do!

Yeah i did this and i was told there was a thread about it lol, so i'm just going to keep posting so hopefully it wont get forgotten about. But thanks for the MOD input luckypot.
I think the solution is obvious but i can appreciate the fact that it may be difficult to code.

I have come up with an easy solution to this problem that will suit everone. Why dont we suspend all rank reductions until the problem is solved.
Then everyone is equal, Simple yet very effective.
Please post your views.

The daily rank deductions was implented in the game to stop players getting to the top ranks then simply not playing ranked anymore and staying at the top.

To be fair it's a small glitch and it's only in the minority. If you don't want to get deducted, then be on at midnight.

But then that is just sad, coming on every midnight just so ur rank doesnt go down 1 point.

I would like to see this problem fixed though, I remember at one point kaison was ranked 974.9 (or there-abouts!) for at least 2 weeks.

Look to the top now and the reason the system was introduced is not working. So lets all play on an even keel and stop the rank reduction for all who play not just those that are sad enough to stay on until midnight.
As for your comment Damee i dont think joining them is the answer although i respect the point you made.

Ok shall we all calm down a little. The rank deduction is 1 point per day MAXIMUM for players above 925. Thats right, 1 point! Its irrelevant to the top players on the whole and, whilst it is a glitch, it doesn't affect the gameplay for anyone and hardly makes a difference in the ranking tables. When/if Nick has time i'm sure he'll look into it, in the meantime get on with getting your ranks up and stop worrying about it!!!!!

You were one of the worst culprits when you reached your highest score in the ranking tables you were on every night at midnight ( if you denigh it we can look back) so obviously you thought it was a big deal. Sam i do respect your opinion because we have played alot against each other but if your at the top at the start of every day you have to win 2 to 3 games just to get back were you were. So yes it does affect only a few but virtuoso_107 would never have got that high score if he had not been on every night at midnight running up to it. therefore it should be void or at least re-calculated.

I understand ralph's point, and I also think this glitch can corrupt the highest ranks. I'm not sure about how many times did virtuoso107 miss the reductions though, as I didn't follow his rank every day in live.

However I'm sure my previous highest original rank (around 987) had been affected by this glitch, as I had been playing over midnight when I reached it, making me missing at least 2 daily reductions. I admit I was well annoyed to have reached it that way, and I suppose curtisorren, who was holding the record by then, would also be angry to have been beaten that way. (Eventually I'm glad I've beaten this record again, without taking profit of the glitch.)

But it couldn't be helped, that's how the game works now, and we have to live with it. I also think that removing completely the daily reductions until this is fixed is a bad idea, because even with this bug, the daily reduction completes its role, by avoiding people stop playing just to stay at the top. And it's better than having no reduction at all.

When this happened on pool it was resolved within a couple of days- i cant believe that this is still happening on snooker (if it is, i cant be bothered to watch peoples rank over here)

Its down to the same problem which affected the ranking positions.

There are some core differences between the two games which make things more awkward (pool doesnt have breaks to figure in for a start)

am not denying that and if you read the post i admitted that, but what im saying is I dont anymore unless im in the tourny.
