You couldn't fault Hull for effort today. We outplayed Liverpool for lengthy periods in the first half with Boateng particularly impressive in midfield. Folan was silly to be sent off but at least he and the rest of the team showed total commitment. Four more matches with that commitment and we can still do it.

As far as I'm concerned we asked for a big performance today and got one. So same effort required for the next few games and we'll be fine!

that wasn't commitment, he cost you the game, petulance more like.

The fact that our FIFA ref just gave into pressure that way speaks volumes for the lack of quality in regards to refs we have in the prem.

Why is this? When was the last timeyou seen an English ref appointed in a meaningful international in a big tournament!?

Hull must surely be going down, Boro or Newcastle will escape. If Hull do stay up they'll be down next season, just not good enough.

On United, they have been probs just about the better team, still everything about them annoys me from their classless manager (very good at being classless though) to their classless players, to their classless fans (singing their Hillsborough nonsense again today, and you try having a propper conversation with one about football not involving United!!) to their classless owner.

The whole club annoys me really but despite their sucess they will never be Liverpool of the 70s and 80s and fergie will never be Bill Shankly, neverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

Absolute joke!!! Jagielka has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and will undergo surgery.

Took the spine of our team out!!! Jagielka has been incredible this season, competed with the ultimate best!!

Arteta, he's a top top player. One of the best!

Yakubu, 20 goals plus striker! Top ratio!

So annoyed it's a bloody joke!!!!!!

All to the same injury, how freaky!!!

How can you expect us to win this final? Really really up against it, peeing me right off!!!! ARrrrraghhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Get well soon Jags, you'll be misssedddd! Chelsea's gain and of course the rest of the teams in the league to playyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Breaking News:

Ryan Giggs is the best player in the premiership.

Or

He hasn't won it before, so give it him before he retires to justify any knighthood he might get.

FARCE, if i was Giggs I would be embarassed. Bet he is, hes a decent enough guy.

started 12 games lets not forget...

I really love the Liverpool banter on this site, well the red side anyway! Giggs to win the player of the league why not!!!! Hes a great servant to the game! Never in the press and someone that kids can look up to, maybe like Gerrard the fella that has just got away with hitting someone and might get away with GBH

Getting on the results i hope Newcastle lose and that all the money they gave KING shearer goes to charity, just think what you could have had Alan

It's an absolute embarrassment that giggs won PFA what a joke! As an avid Liverpool fan I could think of at least 3 EVERTON players who deserved it more. Giggs has been in the shadows this season yet Gerrard has drove Liverpool to possibly the best season league wise we have had since we last won it.

As mike said I'm sure giggs himself finds this unfounded bad day for english football.

But its PFA Player of the year award.

Just shows you how dim footballers are to vote giggs for player of the year

Lifetime achievement yes, but player of the year.... no way.

making a farce out of the already farcical award.

see if giggs is nominated for footballer of the year shall we?... No chance. But the players he beat will be.

Also the GBH has been dropped. Hes in court for Afray, which is basically poking somebody in the eye. Which I have no doubt he will be found not guilty.

Is it gonna be Paul scholes next year!?

Am not being bitter either, because I thought that he would finish 6th in the votes, and the other united players would come above him! He has only started 12 games and scored a single goal... not exactly player of the year stuff, Ryan Babbel has 2 goals and started less game...

On another note, Klinsman has been sacked as Bayern coach.

Are you watching George Gilette!?

Yeah bit of a joke that Giggs won it. I'm sure there are plenty of players in the prem that have played 12 or less games and scored 1 or more goals for their club.

Least it wasn't Ronaldo though, hate the swine.

Just watched the Geordie game in the pub (admittedly whilst playing darts) everyone was laughing at the 2 fat geordies singing before kick off, it was probably more embarassing than the plazzy flags chelsea get given to wave around!!

The game was even worse, Pompey just slowed the game down, and Newcastle again had no width/creativity against a Pompey side who were very defensive.

Was good to here the backing of the legend Alan Shearer at full time though.......

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ....... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ITS NOT PANTO!!!

It got the fans going, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have heard that noise at any other grounds with a club in our state.

Portsmouth must have wasted at least 10 minutes of playing time in that game, it really was pathetic, yet the referee only made any action on it within the last 5 minutes.

The majority of the crowd didn't clap nor boo, but there were a few clapping and a few booing. And those who did boo, what makes you think they were booing Shearer? They were booing the fact that all those players put in a completely heartless performance, even with the club in the position we are and the crowd the way it was.

Oh and you make it out like Liverpool fans never boo, quite often Liverpool fans have not just been booing the team, but booing one particular player (Lucas), which is far worse than booing the team IMO.

Why what he done? lol

Also I don't think Newcastle are that bad of a team, but aslong as Stoke stay up I don't care about the other 19 teams

Ask any Liverpool fan, he is a shambles the only good thing he has ever done at Liverpool was cut his hair.

Ah so there isn't a problem if Liverpool fans boo an individual player when he doesn't do very well, but as soon as a minority of another teams fans are booing the whole team for a heartless performance in a relegation scrap game, it shouldn't be happening?

I'm not going to trawl through the thread, but I'm sure you were saying the Arsenal fans were completely wrong to boo Eboue and it shouldn't be done to anyone.
