Personally Funkysnooker has lost all its appeal to me, I use to be on when ever I had the time but now its just a little lackluster and dry. I know I'm not the only member who is in the same predicament and i know there are plenty of members happy with the way it is and find it very appealing.

I have found since i've started along with many other old schoolers I've lost the desire to actually wanted to play. Sounds silly but its true, I've found myself starting games then wanting to leave straight away out of pure boredom.

I mean correct me if I'm wrong but this site is suppose to destroy boredom but it just doesn't for me anymore!

I think something needs to be added. Killer and Carom were great... for the first two weeks, but now whenever I look at either I often find one maybe two games running. So why not have 15 Red Arcade ? It's exciting and a good mixture of both games. It would help those who like the easy potting on arcade and the freedom to move which the original table has.

Now I know that idea has been mentioned before as I did a forum search, but this thread isn't solely on that topic, I also want to know what other members think about the sites appeal.

And please do not just put if you don't like it leave because that is not what i've made the thread for just leave your opinions on both the appeal of the game and the concept of 15 Red Arcade.

I think your forgetting that Nick has a thing called a life he cannot spend every moment making new games for this site best of all he does it for free !

Nd the idea of 15 reds has been mentioned numerous tyms i think !!

Some people go through patches of interest, but mostly come back now and again, its like a cyclical process. People on my friends list havent logged in for a year then all of a sudden they start playing again.

I dont think its lost its appeal. The community is the appeal of funkysnooker, clans, friends, 1 v 1, forums etc. People change also, you have to understand that, so reduction of interest could be a personal thing.

Nick is always trying to implement changes to improve funkysnooker.

what a great thread, not because i am saying its a bad site but it sums me up completely i just want to leave all the time and its anoying because when i used to love it i was on so much and was a great game but know i can never be bothered,
As for 15 red srcade i think its the best idea not yet to have been implemented more 147s would be made along with 120s 130s and just seeing them poping up on screen would be alot beter,
Ive always thought more announcements would be simple and would really spice up the game they could be for little and silly things like
gio_goi got a break of 56 by clearing the tabel
taht would just make them a bit better if possible

Sorry lads but i do have to agree with gio_goi here. Im one of those who has started to lose interest in the game. I used to be on here all the time but now im not on anywhere near as much as before.

If you look at some of the top players on the game, sean_paul ste_efc etc etc, they aint on anywhere near as much as what they are used to. Inact quite a lot of people don't come on as much (if they do) as before.

And im in exactly the same situation as gio_goi, when i create a game, after a couple of minuites i can't be bothered and not bother playing. Ive even been playing on pool last couple of week just for something fresh.

As for the 15 red arcade, the table would have to be a middle ground between arcade and orig snooker, as all 15 reds on the arcade table would just not fit and on the orig one, well it would still be the orig snooker game.

It does need something fresh, simple and keeping with the game of funkysnooker, and this fits the bill perfectly.



He knows it has been mentioned before, he said that there hasn't been a thread talking about about the appeal of the game aswell.

He knows nick has a lot of work on his hands, and he knows he does his best, but hes thinkiing of the people that think life need bringing back into the game which, like i've already said, 15 red arcade does the trick.

And is he complaining? He's just stating what his opinion is and i bet quite a few agree with him. So just leave it as everyone is entitled to their opinion on the game. That's what the forus are for.

I'm not complaining about the site, all I'm saying is its lost its appeal to me and has it to many other players do not get me wrong nick has done a fantastic job on this website and I have the upmost respect for him but I'm sure he will see this isn't a thread complaining but a thread for peoples opinion on the game.

I'm sure many people leave the site, be it for a few weeks or a few years, and if they have lost intrest then thats fine, new people are clearly finding and enjoying the site at a higher rate since the userbase is constantly growing.

When someone takes the time to make a post like this, just like "leaving threads", it just shows the pull the game has, as people would rather spend thier time on the site than elsewhere, even when they have lost intrest, so thats gotta be a good thing

Moved to general chat as it's not a query, and there are a few threads on 15 red arcade variations etc where that subject can be continued.

Hmmm is a tough one for me, I went as far as deactivating my previous account because I fell out of love with the site, and said that i didn't like the direction it was going in. Since then i've come back, fell in and out and back in to loving the game again, but i'm sure in a months time i'll be sick of it once more, and then grow to love it yet again.

As for the 15 red arcadinal () snooker has been discussed as you said and I think it is still a great idea and has been to easily overlooked on the bases of there not being enough room fo the balls on the table. So if Damee could get his pencils and crayons out and draw us up a rough version of how it would look then that would be good.

I also think scotch doubles would be a good idea, 2 on 2, alternate shots within your team, it requires team work, dependence on your opponent and would offer something which would bond people together more.

Good thread though, there is definitely room for change when you look at pool and all the game options they have.

I'm afraid im going to have to agree with gio_goi also.

The things nick and the admins have done for funkysnooker since i started has been excellent, dont get me wrong.

But i am just losing interest as the days go on. Not just because its boring, but also the amount of stick im getting off of new members. This is'nt a complaint its just a statement that i think most "old schoolers" (as gio_goi said) would agree with.

Times have changed, new members come and go, old schoolers leave and return, and as funkysnooker grows in size, so do the problems for the old schoolers IMO.

I have alot of love and respect for this site, its helped me through alot of hard and boring times. In the past two years i have had surgeory 6 times on my neck (due to a rare skin condition i have) and cracked my skull open a few months back. I aint been able to work for those two years and the site kept me going.

But i fear ryan a.k.a youngjeezy will be hanging his funkysnooker cue up very soon.

i also have to agree with gio_goi, i have been on this site with 3 accounts, the old pikachu, the_doctor and this one.

the site has changed so much since i first came on, its now the best it has ever been. The admins and mods have done a exellent job and i feel alot of respect for them. Theres just a few minority of things that is making me feel this site is loosing its appeal.

1. some of the newbies. as ry said some people give you stick just because your good

2. now ive got a cent theres not really anything more to do (apart from get a max which im trying to do lol) there is killer and carom but i think poeple have a lot of luck and skills not really involved (especially in killer)

some of the ideas that have come in over the last couple of months that i have seen are very good ideas, for example doubles is a great idea and the 15 red arcade, however i do know that nick has a lot to do apart from this and those installments might not even arrive.

I wont be giving up the site despite the occasional boredom, this is because of all the fun i have had on this site and that im still having. i have alot of good mates and making more along the way.

No real point in this thread anymore, doubt Nick reads general chat.

In my opinion every game site you go on someday will lose it's appeal. I've lost my appeal for funkypool and snooker many times, but it's that hard to stay away for good you have to come back. As for no challenges and getting a cent there is nothing left to do, i disagree with that i come on this site to talk to new people and also to chat to my mates aswell as trying to get better at the game. i think there are lots you can do, try get number 1 overall, number 1 on both game types, get highest rank ever on both game times, Get highest amount of 147's and 107's, try to get better win %, try to get most wins and tournaments etc, there are lots you can do with Nick always expanding the site and adding new stuff to it, personally i think this site is best it has been EVER

Not sure if i should move this back, because as spinner said, it isn't really a querie, but there is some good points on it which should be noticed.

Well personally I put it in game queries so people would notice it and give there opinions and suggestions on the ideas put forward, isn't that what game queries is for ?

And as for your post zero_pulse many of the old schoolers have achieved all of what you said, it may sound selfish but its true.

The game needs a bump in a new direction and 15 Red Arcade aswell as thew other two games is the perfect solution.
