Every users rank has been reduced for arcade and original snooker.

Please remember it's all relative. A score of 800 now is roughly equal to 925 before. Every member is in the same ranking position as before.

1) Previous attained maximum values remain

a) Top 50 table will still exist (labelled "Old")

b) Value will remain on your profile (labelled "previous") so long as you managed to achieve 850+.

2) Everyone's current ranking is reduced by 50% of the amount over 675. eg someone on 925 -> 800.

The old ranking scores will remain on the high score tables and on everyone's statuses for 1 year. After that time it will be reviewed.

This was performed due to the rankings scale factor being incorrect meaning they were too volatile (was widely discussed in other threads).

An example of why it was bad is when 2 highly rated players eg 950 each play each other. Due to edge effects a 2-2 draw would cause both players to lose significant points. To reduce this effect the value of a ranking point has been increased, meaning less people will be in the 900s.

that really isn't nice

Gone from 6th down to 11th currently in overall table. Probably because of my low reg rank compared to everyone else in the top 10 . On a plus, nice to see me 4th in original max ranks

Taisa, consider it something like currency being readjusted. If £1 got revalued to £2 your salary would look like it had been halved, but in real terms it wouldn't change.

Its going to take a while to reach 900, theres not enough points floating around! I might wait a few weeks for you guys to earn them and then I will take them from you

Most annoying thing is though, its first time ive been below 900 on orig for about 7 month

lol i think 0.5 was a bit severe when the real figure was probably closer to 0.8, but they will even themselves out eventually

This was clearly the best solution but do we have to have it on our profiles? Can't we just have the tables? Cause quite frankly it makes the profile stats quite messy.

I don't mind it. Just noticed when you click the number 1 next to chat rooms it makes you're table bigger or smaller, i like it.
