Every club has an Academy,
City have one of the best academy's you cant say just Arsenal and Barca have the right attitude, Man United also have excellent youth players, im sure Chelsea will get some gems aswell.
Every club has to look at home grown talent more so now and i imagine alot of money goes into exploiting this area.
Arsenal got some of the best bargains ever to be fair and that goes down to one person, Mr Wenger.

Henry, Kanu, Pires, Ljungberg, Suker, Viera, Wiltord, Overmars...
Your Right Mike, Arsenal Bring Them Through Their Academies < Pfft.
Maybe Recently They Have Been, But Then You Can Argue The Only Way Wenger Gets His Young Players Are Feeder Clubs, They Raise A Talented Player Which Arsenal Will Come And Take For Less Than 1 Million.
Football Shouldn't Be Business Like Tom Said?
Riiighhht.

Crewe have always been our feeder club, we loaned Murphy back to Crewe if I remember rightly.
Anyway, did you know that Rafa averages £14.5M per year - both transfer windows combined.
Its nothing when you think about it.

Arsenal have never had vast money under Wenger, he has in fact made £25M profit under Wenger, Also players like overmars and Anelka were sold at something ridicuolous of a combined profit of £35
Nor have Barcelone ever spent money relentlessly, Real Madrid are the galacticos, and have spent FAR!!!!! more than Barca, of course you already know this...........
Real Madrid are in mass debt as ever, but does it matter? Nah cos they are ran by the bank.

The Players Wern't Free Mike, He Spent To Get Them.
Its Not Just About How Much Money You Spend, Its Who You Get, Ronaldo Was 80M, You Can Get Henry, Snijder, Robben & Beckham For Under 80M.
So Arsenal Got all The Good Players For Small Prices, However They Still Brought Them

Yes he has to spend to get them, but who'd heard of them before they signed for Arsenal? They were developed massively once they got there, all City and Chelsea do is buy 'ready-made' players.
Were not saying that buying players is wrong, maybe Mike was right that you're out of your depth if you havn't even noticed that. We (Well I, not sure about Mike) were on about the fact that the teams with the most money are the teams that just go out and make football based on money rather than football itself. Point out where I said that teams shouldn't be buying players. All I said was that football is being spoiled by the fact that it's all about money.
Where did Man United get their money from? Did they suddenly get a foreign owner injecting incredible amounts of money? Or did they earn it through success that they built up over time?
Of the teams you mentioned there, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Man City are the only ones who actually just got the money and spent stupid amounts. Bayern Munich are the richest club in Germany because they're the most successful club in Germany (NOT the other way round). Barcelona- Messi, Iniesta, Xavi, Puyol etc. they weren't just bought in once they hit a high standard, I don't think Barca have actually spent a great deal on players?
Money is spoiling it, the Premier League isn't a league of 20 anymore, it's 4 or 5 seperate leagues with each team having something else to chase.

Exactly, Accrington Stanley buy players that cost money.
14:09 Tue 3 Nov 09 (GMT) [Link]
na they just exchange cigarettes and stuff
all players cost money,
i agree with your arguament and understand that watching another team become wealthy must be frustrating but its not exactly the supporters fault if the club gets bought by some bloke worth 550 billion is it.
all we can do is carry on supporting the club and enjoy the football whats on offer.
i mean its 22 blokes ( unless o shea is on ) its 22 blokes kickin a ball, anything can happen, burnley beat united, wigan beat chelsea, fulham beat liverpool,
dosnt all this seem a little strange considering money is wrecking everything

Lets face it... if stoke could go out and buy anybody they wanted to I wouldnt complain and I would laugh at everybody saying 'Your buying the premiership'
It makes no difference if a player is brought up through the ranks of the club or from Real Madrid,
Personally I would prefer to keep Peter Coates at Stoke instead of somebody with 100bil becuase he loves football and he invests when he wants and to my knowledge hes the 7th richest owner in England?
Everyobdy moans about money becuase most teams do not have any and thats the harsh fact behind it but even if they do have it the Chairmen wont invest

Everton are owned by Bill Kenwright (Blue Bill) A big Evertonian who loves the club as much as the next fan but even though he is a blue and loves the club i think its time to sell up as we simply cannot carry on competing in a number of competitions with a small squad at the best of times, then theres injurys, suspentions etc. I trust Bill to find the right invester who can take the club further.

Well i loved Ken Bates! He is a star, buys Chelsea for £1 when were 65M in debt? Said he sold for a better future for the club and to take early retirment < now at Leeds and yet again doing superb stuff, if there was a chairmen of the world award he'd get my vote lol.
But Bruce Buck is great for the club, people forget that Abramovich is only the owner < not chairmen. If i remember correctly, it was Brucey than persuaded Roman to invest his money. Bruse Buck has been a Chelsea fan for more than 30 years, so i cant exactly doubt his passion to be a Chelseatonian lmao.
Also i dont think Abramovich can be argued against < week in week out he's in his box cheering for chelsea and celebrating as i do when we score < that is priceless
Also bcoz he was naive to football at the start and wanted instant success he wanted to spend spend spend, we had an owner who liked putting his hand in his pocket, i wont agrue with that. If you had all the money he 'had' would you not want to buy players of your choosing?

Newcastle are such a joke team. Think half the stuff that happens there is better than the soaps on TV.
