Ngog should get a 3 match ban like Eduardo did when he dived against Celtic tbh although in 9 out of 10 games there is some sort of diving so Liverpool could argue that Ngog gets banned but others got of scot free, Its something that will be very hard to get out of football.

Diving is by no means acceptable but its very hard to control and to punish

It is simple what should have to happen, like with anything be it football or law.

The punishment should be above that of the award.

So, in Law, theft should be awarded 15 years for example, diving should be given a 3 match ban.

If the risk is greater than the reward, players will be deterred from diving.

Was a good game, diving happens, some1 mention Ronaldo, Drogba And Eduardo. Not being funny but i've seen J.cole do it on a number of occasions. There is different types of diving, There's Drogba and Cole that get a slight niggle and go down for the freekick, when minimal contact occurs. On Telly the other day it was highlighting Kenwyn Jones Red card when he shoved some1 in the neck got a straight red, then some other player doing the same thing but the player pushed got straight up, and recieved a yellow card aswell as the player that pushed in the first place. It clearly highlights that if Drogba and Coley dont drop to the floor, they WONT get the decision when im SURE half of them are REAL fouls. hope that all makes sense lol.

Diving is cheating so I don't know how you can seperate N'gog, Ronaldo, Drogba (He does dive, not just when there's slight contact) etc. into different catergories.

Of course there's different types.

if Drogba is being held by a defender and Drogba falls to the floor and starts holding his head or something, people say thats diving, if he stays up no free-kick. so ofcouse he's going to drop to the floor.

ronaldo dives on no contact to cheat the ref, drogba is getting a decision by exaggerating a foul.

I agree, there is a difference between diving and going down easily.

But for me, Drogba is the biggest cheat because he goes down holding his face, basically trying to get a player sent off. Not content to win a free kick.

At the end of the day, a cheat is a cheat, but you can get bigger cheats than others.

You just said he chucks the odd dive in here and there. That's cheating in the form of diving, so he cheats in that and in the way to try and a player punished by faking an injury.

Realistically everybody will moan about the odd dive but if Newcastle were tov win the league due to a dive I assure you Tom won't be saying SCUM ban him blah blah and if Liverpool were able to go through Champs league on a dive you would not complain end of day i'm a football fan I love the game love how people play hate it when Stoke loose due to a dive but thats football end of day it will always happen and I do not think the punisment should be to great at all

If the referee is incapable of spotting it bigger fool him don't hate the player hes just getting paid to make his team win at all needs where the ref is getting paid to stop it so he should be making sure

We all no drogba is far from the worst. He's an easy target for people to critisise. And i love how when gerrard/neville/carragher and the rest of the liverpool/man utd players dont get their diving highlighted and their kick-outs at players dont get highlighted, on Match of the day or skysports news, When in the past drogba and ronaldo had a 20 minute prime time spot on telly fgs. All this bad media effects people's thinking.

Not remember the vidic slap? was there any need to fall to the floor as if he'd been hit with a baseball bat? was that made a big issue that vidic hurt himself more by falling to the floor than getting slapped?
